Does this ever happen to you?
Comments (31)SG, I think it's the noise. The library is one place I expect some peace and quiet. Other places too but 'Quiet Please' is the hallmark of a library that certainly everyone should be aware of. It's just inappropriate to have chatting and noise. It wouldn't be just you. It would be the next 10 people over the next 10 minutes as well. Libraries are places of study. People are there to concentrate on their reading and work. I don't visit often but last few times I was shocked at the staff's noise and chatter, all made worse by the vast open space, glass walls, and vaulted ceiling. It's bad enough when the patrons are inconsiderate and disruptive but staff should know better. They should also try to keep others quiet. The person at the busy information desk was just plain loud. Constantly booming away through the whole space. Then you try to escape to a private cube in a remote area and you've got the kids hiding back there talking and giggling nonstop. Noise, noise, noise. Bright colors, bright lights, constant talking and activity. Everything must be vibrant, bustling and loud. The world is addicted to it. I just want some peace and quiet! I don't know how some people can concentrate on what they're doing and get their work done when they're busy talking all the time. One of these days I just might scream to really shake things up, lol....See MoreDoes this ever happen to you? Some guy just hit on me!
Comments (14)Me no. Back in the day...yes....all the time. I got old. Now when I met my new neighbor he said he just got divorced, his ex lived down the street. I was shopping @ the local orchid store & the owner was grilling me on where I lived, she was a neighbor. Turns out it was the "ex". I exploded with "he's such a catch, he owns a motorcyle, sports car, 4x4, camper, boat, has a great job!" She told her ex, now HE thinks I'm hitting on him.....ha ha ha not in a million years!!!!...See MoreDoes a movie ever haunt you in a bad way?
Comments (63)BB, I get what you're saying, but humanely ending an animal's suffering is a gift of love. I would have preferred for Artie's euthanasia to take place at home like the last two, but God sent me an angel that morning at LSU. The doctor, who I had just met, was full of empathy and compassion. She let me say goodbye to Artie in a private room ... just the two of us. And when it was time she let me hold him as his body was put to sleep. I can't imagine not being there for him in the end no matter how painful it was....See MoreThis true movie is the saddest dog story ever told
Comments (12)I netflixed it because someone on this list recommended it. I told my friend about it the next day, and started bawling telling her about it. I also told my Mom about it (yep, started crying again). She told me about a book called the Spuddy by Lillian Beckwith that was the saddest dog story she had ever read. So while talking to her, I went on ebay, found it in England, and bought it on the spot. It's the story about a dog whose master dies and his wife moves away and leave him (the spuddy) behind. A boy who is mute moves in and befriends the dog. I just know this book is going to make me cry. Anyway, long response to your post, but I did love Hachi....See MoreAnnie Deighnaugh
