We Made It...Finally

Our flight left Omaha on time. We got to Dallas Ft. Worth, and circled for about a 1/2 hour, because of the bad weather, and they shut down the whole airport and they took cover, before we were sent on to Abilene. We needed fuel. So, 7 hours later we were flown back to DFW. All flights were cancelled until the next day. Then we had to get in line to go on standby with the other thousands of missed flights, to finally get here. Getting a motel was impossible because everyone else had filled them up. They offered us a cot. I said are you kidding, I'm not making my 82 year old mother sleep on a cot. Her nor I either one could have gotten on or off without help. So, I finally found a La Quinta with a room available. $89.00, and $55.00 one way to get to it, and $55.00 to get back. Not even given a food voucher. No clothes to change into, as the luggage was sent on to Burbank with the first available flight out. Luckily they'd pulled mom's wheel chair off and we did get that. So, after hanging around the airport until 2:00, one of the ticket ladies took pity on us, and pulled some strings and got us out of there at 2:30, and we arrived in Burbank at 4:30. She's spotted mom's plaid wheel chair, and said "Are you still stuck here? Give me your tickets and I'll see what I can do for you." Bless her heart, she came back with tickets, and said go to gate C20 there's a flight leaving in 10 minuts. We got on. Yippee. So, after two Adavan (sp) and a glass iof wine, I was pretty calm on the flight in to Burbank. Otherwise, we did have confirmed seats to get in today. What a mess.

I'm using DD's laptop, and she needs it. So, I'll be back later. Excuse the errors.
