I did it! I found MY color! I am so excited...

I've been searching for a rich & cheerful color in the yellow/gold family for a while now...to be used in the new house for the "main" living areas (kitchen,dining,great room).

Found the color at a new local restaurant. Lovely general mgr put me in touch with the BM location who mixed the custom paint for them and I got a quart to try out at our current home. I'm hooked. This is my color! I know it's probably way too "something" for some of you...but this is exactly what I've been looking for and just had to share!

It looks a lot like our Stuart Gold. I don't think it's too "something" at all.

Purpleinopp - The flowers do have a pink tint to them, almost a blush. Boothbay - I purchased a pink Thanksgiving Cactus last year and it rebloomed again this year. It surprised me because it was on the kitchen table and did not receive the short daylight hours because the light in the kitchen stays on late at night. However, only part of it bloomed. It was the part that was closest to the window. Next year I will definitely give it the short day treatment to get more blooms. I have heard people who get theirs to bloom twice a year. I did place my true Christmas Cactus in an area where it gets the short daylight hours and it is loaded with buds. I cannot wait until it blooms.

Oh I know-wow can it eat! This morning when I came downstairs I walked over and looked at him-there is little frass all over and the little leaf was gone! There is something I always wanted to do so I touched him and that litle osmeterium came out-that is so funny looking! I won't do it anymore but, I just had to see it for myself. Lasy year I made little containers-I cut the lids and put netting on them with glue. It is alot easier to bring one of them with you when you go looking for cats and eggs.It's small enough so I could fit it in my purse or backpack too. I have the egg in there all by itself. Aggie

Thank you Dahr-ling! I do love that Lilac rose. Awwww...that was so thoughtful of you to think of me! Your garden is full of color and vitality. Mine is just sitting there...on hold. Everything in your garden looks healthy and so pretty! I bet with all those beautiful roses and irises blooming, your garden smells delicious. I only wish irises could have a longer blooming period. I can sit out in the garden and sniff and sniff and sniff their yummy scent for hours. I love red roses, too, and I must say. WS 2000 is AWESOME! (swooning..) I actually like red and purple together, especially with yellow gold. Very regal colors. I like deep red with bold, bright yellows, white, purples, blues, turquoise, oranges and some shades of pink, HOT Tropical colours, with Caribbean blues, but never with demure Pastels. It just depends upon the shades and the hues of red.. I do NOT like pinky-washed-out-reds. If it is going to be red, I want my roses to bloody well be a true red, a Christmas red, a juicy apple red, or a cherry red, or a deep crimson red...or it's Off with their heads! Off with their Heads!

Congrats! I love yellows - my home is almost entirely Sherwin Williams "Blonde" and it makes me so happy!

What a precious baby! Talk about "happy!"

wodka...don't even TALK to me about "Blonde"! That was my first choice until we tried it in the new house. I loved all the pictures of it from GW and had fallen in love...but I tried it on some drywall squares and it looked so washed out with all of our light--that's when I started to go with a deeper yellow and darker gold. I really did think I could just choose all my colors from GW pictures, lol! Oh, what a difference a year of homebuilding makes.

mona...I do love your Stuart Gold...so warm and rich!

Fiarytale, it's a beautiful color! It's very warm. I'll bet people will really open up around that color and be very happy and chatty. Watch out -- your guests won't want to leave!

How very clever of you to be keeping your eyes open so that you found it in a restaurant and asked the manager. Good on ya!

And yes the baby is insanely cute. :D

I found my exterior home color while sitting in the dentist office chair! I noticed that I really loved the exterior color of the office which was an older remodeled home. The dentist gave me the BM color and we used it on our exterior. Still love it several years later. I only wish I could "find" my indoor colors so I can stop repainting! I love your new color and they are on my list to consider for the kitchen. I would love to see more. The baby is adorable! I have a five year old, two year old and an 11 month old cutie myself.

I found my color when I realized it was the same as the van I drive. How crazy is that?

It's not too far off from a full spectrum paint color I used in my old house made by Citron Paint from Tucson called Lantana.

Being a full spectrum paint the color changed according to daylight or artificial light.

elvis, it's just 50% BM Suntan Yellow and 50% Semolina as pictured on my wall...they're the two bottom colors on the card.

Congratulations!!! I know it must be a relief to find the right color after searching so long!!! It looks great!!

I am still searching for the perfect color for my LR/DR and I hope I am as lucky as you! I swear it's taken me longer to find a color than it did for me to find my DH!!

Congratulations!! That baby would cheer anyone up. Oh and congrats on the paint color too.

I hounded a showroom manager just last week to track down the color of the his newly painted wall. I went in to get a 50 cent piece of hardware so he wasn't real happy to accommodate me.

Fairy, I've heard that before about "Blonde" - we were fortunate (after buying many sample buckets of different colors)that it worked out beautifully with our lighting, furniture, etc. It is a happy day when you find the one that works and everything goes together.

Fabulous color. I have two that are similar in my house -- EK Mustard Seed and C2 Radiate. They are happy, happy colors. Just right for that happy, happy baby!

And good for you for figuring out that you can't necessarily pick colors by looking at other people's photos. It's a great place to start....but it just isn't that simple, as you well know.

LOVE it! I am a gold/yellow lover though. We have BM Straw in our bedroom; your pics look close to that as well.
