My new Thanksgiving cactus
Comments (8)TJ, that's a beauty. Growhappy provided you with some good links of info. I'm afraid to go the the shops these days. It seems everywhere I go there are holiday plants popping up all around me. How does one resist all that eye candy!? I've seen the Cyclamen, Christmas Cactus, Amaryllis, Hyacinth temptations and I've brought home an Amaryllis and Hyacinth - so far. Today I saw my first Poinsettia, which I know I will be unable to resist this year. I'm trying very hard to limit myself to just a handful of holiday plants this year but I don't know how long before I cave in...LOL... I'm sure you can understand that! Enjoy your new plant. It's gorgeous. A Christmas Cactus will forgive you almost anything except for overwatering! They have very small root systems so be very careful with the water jug. Most flowering plants like being a little snug in their containers so don't worry about whether the pot is too small....See MoreLook At My New Gem :) (Beautifully Colored Thanksgiving Cactus)
Comments (6)Not 100% sure but i think it is a hybrid called "Golden Girl" Has Pinkish buds that turn yellow and after the Flowers open yellow as they get older they turn a peachy color after the flowers wilt completely, looks like a mushed up dark peach. I was at my local walmart when they got their shipment in and i found 2 in their mixed group. Greedy me bought them both.LOL I saw where a nursery in Ohio had it for sale earlier in the year I ordered 1 from the other nursery to compare, but don't know if i will get it now. Will let you know if the other 1 comes in' cliff...See MoreHi all! I am so excited!!!
Comments (2)I planted a Blue Satin last spring. It was VERY small - about 6 inches and only had one flower. This year it is about 2 feet tall and loaded with buds. I had my first two flowers open yesterday - and they are gorgeous! Couldn't be happier with them! I hope you enjoy yours!...See MoreI did it! I found MY color! I am so excited...
Comments (20)Fabulous color. I have two that are similar in my house -- EK Mustard Seed and C2 Radiate. They are happy, happy colors. Just right for that happy, happy baby! And good for you for figuring out that you can't necessarily pick colors by looking at other people's photos. It's a great place to start....but it just isn't that simple, as you well know....See Morebirdsnblooms
