Please help me pick a color for my kitchen walls.

The following photos show the three main color elements now in my kitchen. The wall color is currently white and while I like the brightness it contributes to the kitchen, with the cabinets now refaced and painted white, I would like to add color to the walls. My DH would have liked something in the blue spectrum, but I tried a lot of color cards and they did not look right. Maybe you know of a blue that would work. We are now leaning more to the green family. I was even looking at some coral colors. I would like something bright and cheery. I found a yellow I liked but DH did not. The adjacent room has cream walls and sage green furniture.

The backsplash and tile floors will be staying. Because of the rich colors, do I need to have the wall color be in that same range or can I go light?

The countertop is called Crystalline Onyx, but at certain times of the day it has a green cast to me. Otherwise, it is shades of black, gray, tan, and white.
