Our cast surround leg. Perhaps hard to tell, but there's a pinkish undertone.

Some of the options I've considered. Not wild about them.

Hard to tell. I'd wait until it's in, see it in different light, with your furniture, etc.
If you don't like the tone of the surround itself can you paint it?

island - Yes, we can paint the surround (we've been told). I'd like to live with it as is for awhile though. I do like the color...except for the darn pinkish tone that comes out in certain lighting!

It was recommended to paint before installing the surround; maybe we'll just paint the fireplace wall to see if we like it before doing the rest of the room.

Our leak caused water damage inside, and our repair turned into redecorating. At least we'll have a new family room when all is done!

Yes, I can see the pinkish undertone, and I think you should go with it....the green shades are fighting it. I'd suggest a color that will read a warm rosy beige in the room which will make it light and bright yet cozy.

Annie - Thx for your input! Not sure the pinky beige will work with my furniture, but the fireplace wall is the priority. The furniture will most likely be replaced in the future anyway (a true "snowball" project!). I will consider them. Perhaps the Pristine.

There isn't a BM store close by, but maybe Sherwin Williams can match the Pristine. If you happen to know of any SW or Porter colors that would work, please let me know.

My DH & I just went through the hundreds of color swatches and are going to test SW Bittersweet Stem next...darker and more contrast. Does anyone happen to have this color in their home?
