There are days lately I don't get on the puter, save to check an email........but to be honest I found this thread several days ago. I wanted to say just the right thing and struggled with it to the point, I gave up. But, I can't let this thread go awaY without telling you that you are in my thoughts on a daily basis, Di and if good wishes were a touchable real entity when directed to another person, and I think they are, then you should be flooded with them coming from all directions. I'm hoping this year brings sunshine into your life and flowers in your gardens.

Happy Birthday, OA! With that great attitude in spite of the leaks, I just KNOW you will enjoy your birthday. You know what they say--into every life a little rain must fall! LOL And we so seldom get rain here in So. Calif., wouldn't you know it would happen when your roof isn't ready! Just think of how much fun it will be when it is all finished and you can display more of your pretties--it will all be worth it in the long run. Luvs

Happy Birthday!! How nice that your daughter is cooking for you. As for "The Call", I assume you mean that they will be asking you to fix something. Everything must be very green where you are now with all the rain. Lars

Thank you all for the birthday wishes, I have had a lovely day. I slept in the extra hour and got up to find that Max got up early and had gone out quietly to get a lovely bouquet of pink roses for me. The flowers, a card, a latte and some pastries he picked up were waiting for me. DMIL stopped over in the late morning with a card and a gift. Michael and our DIL and a number of friends called throughout the day (we are having a family celebration of all the fall birthdays a little later). We had a leisurely afternoon with the Sunday papers in the house and outside enjoying the lovely mid 70s sunshine. Max and I went out to dinner to a restaurant we have been wanting to try. This is Boulder's restaurant week and loads of restaurants have great specials. For starters we had Caesar salad and homemade gnocchi with a delicate oven roasted tomato sauce and mozzarella bocconcini. I wish I could make gnocchi as tender as those were, oh geez, I wish I could make any kind of gnocchi. We both had braised pork osso bucco with figs and ragout of flagelets. We had the same dessert too, a divine chocolate truffle torte with fresh raspberries and blackberries, robed with a lavender syrup. We finished with a pot of French press decaf and talk of a little Port later at home. It was a lovely meal and a great opportunity to try a new restaurant. Lee

Thank you everyone. You are all such good friends.

I did have a nice birthday, class in the morning, quiet afternoon, dinner a favorite Vietnamese restaurant.

And yes, Max had something special planned - we leave tomorrow for a short Mediterranean cruise. I know it will be fun, just wish I knew more about the weather, since the fifties here in Colorado on a sunny day means no socks no jacket, I'm not so sure what the fifties in a more humid area, or on board ship will be like.

Fall has been crazy, I'm taking a two hour Spanish class twice a week and teaching English as a Second Language - just to a small group of two, but it takes an amazing amount of time over the three - four hours a week that we meet to research and prep - but I'm love it!

I still get tired pretty early in the evening but have so much more stamina than several years ago. Every birthday reminds me of how much you all were there for me, during my long hospital stay and much longer recovery, and I thank you all for that too.
