Thank you all, the early greetings were a wonderful start to my day before I left for a hair cut. I get it cut an hour away and so I combine it with some shopping on that end of the metro area. Max and I are going out for dinner tonight and to see Red over the weekend. That's what I wanted to do but didn't want to do both the same night. Last year we had a big family dinner at a favorite restaurant in Denver to celebrate that I was alive and to thank everyone for the help they gave us, this year it's just the two of us celebrating that I am finally really starting to feel good. I am grateful for all the good wishes from my friends here too and for seeing so many forum friends this year. I'll tell you about dinner later. Lee

Thank you all so much for thinking of me and remembering my birthday. Cooking has been minimal at our house due both to my recovery and to the storm repairs/remodeling that we are doing. I do often read the forum on my iPad at night and will try to check in more often - I do miss the CF and all of you. Lee

Thank you all for the greetings and cards. They have really made me smile and be grateful for my friends here. I have had a quiet but lovely day, starting out with my Max-made lovely foamy latte in the morning. Then off to exercise on the treadmill. That is really paying off, last year on my birthday I still had three bar stools in the kitchen, at the sink, the stove and the counter, and I moved from one to another to sit while making dinner. This year I can cook dinner on my feet and the stools have gone away. Even though I still get tired at night, I can walk for five hours through a museum with only a lunch break. Max brought me lovely roses and a sweet card and we had fresh crab on large salads for a special lunch. We are putting off my birthday dinner for a week. Max is taking me to Montevideo, UR and Buenos Aires and we will have a celebration dinner there. We're both looking forward to the trip and seeing part of the world we have not been to. We're staying in those two cities, along with two days in Colonia, UR - all at sea level so I won't have any problems. Thank you for making my birthday so special. Lee

Thank you everyone. You are all such good friends. I did have a nice birthday, class in the morning, quiet afternoon, dinner a favorite Vietnamese restaurant. And yes, Max had something special planned - we leave tomorrow for a short Mediterranean cruise. I know it will be fun, just wish I knew more about the weather, since the fifties here in Colorado on a sunny day means no socks no jacket, I'm not so sure what the fifties in a more humid area, or on board ship will be like. Fall has been crazy, I'm taking a two hour Spanish class twice a week and teaching English as a Second Language - just to a small group of two, but it takes an amazing amount of time over the three - four hours a week that we meet to research and prep - but I'm love it! I still get tired pretty early in the evening but have so much more stamina than several years ago. Every birthday reminds me of how much you all were there for me, during my long hospital stay and much longer recovery, and I thank you all for that too. Lee

Thanks everyone. It is a beautiful day here, sunny and low 60's in Boulder sandwiched in between days in the low 70's. The 23 inches of snow we had last week are just a distant memory.

It has not been an easy year but each month is better and I am so thankful to be celebrating this birthday.

I may do a little shopping this afternoon and I'm not sure about dinner, except that I am not cooking. Max may bring home takeout.

But we have other fun plans for celebrating. I had a call from Dlynn with a wonderful surprise that she had left two dinner theatre tickets for us to see Phantom. We are going on Sunday to the afternoon performance which is perfect for me since I still crash fairly early in the evening and the theatre is almost an hour away.

Later in the month we are hosting a family dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Denver. Our granddaughter has been working at a great Italian restaurant/bakery and a cake from them will be part of our celebration.

I am so grateful for all of the help and support I have received from friends and family this past year and for all the cards, phone calls and prayers from the CF. I wish I could celebrate with all of you.

Happy Birthday, Lee, and many more, a day late but still heartfelt.

You not only share a birthday with Ellen, but with Makayla, The Monkey Princess, so it's a very good day indeed.
