Thank you all. My day started, as always, with a latte in bed, thanks to Max. We are planning a nice snack dinner, shrimp, smoked salmon, cheese, an eggplant bruschetta, fresh veggies and fruit, and Champagne while we watch election returns. We voted by mail weeks ago and had no line at all to drop our ballots in a drive by mailbox. Last night's news said that between 61 and 70% of registered voters in Colorado had already mailed in ballots or done early on site voting. I think that is an amazing number and should insure short lines everywhere today. Later in the week we will have dinner out at one of our fav restaurants. Lee

Thank you all for the birthday wishes, I have had a lovely day. I slept in the extra hour and got up to find that Max got up early and had gone out quietly to get a lovely bouquet of pink roses for me. The flowers, a card, a latte and some pastries he picked up were waiting for me. DMIL stopped over in the late morning with a card and a gift. Michael and our DIL and a number of friends called throughout the day (we are having a family celebration of all the fall birthdays a little later). We had a leisurely afternoon with the Sunday papers in the house and outside enjoying the lovely mid 70s sunshine. Max and I went out to dinner to a restaurant we have been wanting to try. This is Boulder's restaurant week and loads of restaurants have great specials. For starters we had Caesar salad and homemade gnocchi with a delicate oven roasted tomato sauce and mozzarella bocconcini. I wish I could make gnocchi as tender as those were, oh geez, I wish I could make any kind of gnocchi. We both had braised pork osso bucco with figs and ragout of flagelets. We had the same dessert too, a divine chocolate truffle torte with fresh raspberries and blackberries, robed with a lavender syrup. We finished with a pot of French press decaf and talk of a little Port later at home. It was a lovely meal and a great opportunity to try a new restaurant. Lee

Thank you all, the early greetings were a wonderful start to my day before I left for a hair cut. I get it cut an hour away and so I combine it with some shopping on that end of the metro area. Max and I are going out for dinner tonight and to see Red over the weekend. That's what I wanted to do but didn't want to do both the same night. Last year we had a big family dinner at a favorite restaurant in Denver to celebrate that I was alive and to thank everyone for the help they gave us, this year it's just the two of us celebrating that I am finally really starting to feel good. I am grateful for all the good wishes from my friends here too and for seeing so many forum friends this year. I'll tell you about dinner later. Lee

Thank you everyone. You are all such good friends. I did have a nice birthday,class in the morning, quiet afternoon,dinner a favorite Vietnamese restaurant. And yes, Max had something special planned - we leave tomorrow for a short Mediterranean cruise. I know it will be fun, just wish I knew more about the weather, since the fifties here in Colorado on a sunny day means no socks no jacket, I'm not so sure what the fifties in a more humid area, or on board ship will be like. Fall has been crazy, I'm taking a two hour Spanish class twice a week and teaching English as a Second Language - just to a small group of two, but it takes an amazing amount of time over the three - four hours a week that we meet to research and prep - but I'm love it! I still get tired pretty early in the evening but have so much more stamina than several years ago. Every birthday reminds me of how much you all were there for me, during my long hospital stay and much longer recovery, and I thank you all for that too. Lee
