Thanks to everyone for the nice birthday wishes! I've heard from family and friends and opened some presents this morning. My boys are taking me out for dinner sometime soon and they spent several hours trimming my shrubs for me - that is what I told them I wanted for my birthday! LOL! This evening I will bake some breads in prep for the farmers' market tomorrow at early o'clock. So it is life as usual around here, but that's o.k. "Another year older and deeper in debt; St. Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go, I owe my soul to the company store." My friend and I were singing that on the phone this afternoon - what a hoot! Name that tune! Teresa

Hope you are having a great day, Bobby! Yep, September Seventeenth just rolls trippingly off the tongue! I used to be more organized than I am now, but I still think that my way is best and I'll probably tell you that - ha! But I am more mellow now in my dotage and I resign myself to things I can't change more easily than when I was younger. Here are some characteristics of Virgo: You Virgos have the uncanny sense to see what's wrong with a person, a situation or your environment. It's why Virgo makes such natural critics. Virgo practical analytical abilities are second to none. Your mental process may not be the most creative, but Virgo's razor-like thinking is highly effective. You separate the useful wheat from the unneeded chafe, the good from the bad. Virgo might be a "clean freak," but most Virgos have a messy closet somewhere or a disaster under their bed. The Virgo motto could be "Perfect is almost good enough." On one hand, this trait makes you very employable, for you're not likely to do shabby work. On the other hand, you can be so finicky that you put limitations on your interactions and experiences before they happen. You'll be happier if you can learn to be selectively less critical, both of others and yourself. All the best to all you Virgos! Teresa

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes! We did start Saturday evening with dinner out with my two sons and my mom. This was after my boys helped me with some yard work. Tonight I'm going to my mom's for dinner and next week, I'll go out to dinner with some friends from work (too much going on to go this week). Then next month, a lovely birthday present for me, my mom and my youngest sister (we all have b'days in Sept.): a 4-day trip to Key West, FL compliments of my BIL and middle sister! We are all so excited! Teresa

Thank you Dcarch, Sally, Jasdip and bcskye for the birthday wishes. I had a very fun day at work. I sent out an invitation to about 100 co-workers and friends this morning. It said "I'm 60 today and one day you will be too!" I don't like cake so I ordered a full sheet pan, giant rice krispy bar! It was 3" thick and way too much for the 70+ people that showed up. I've never met anyone with an October 1 birthday before. So it came as a real surprise last year when I found out the woman I work for shares my birthday. She went to Philly yesterday and had to miss the party. One of the guys that also works for her made a quick video and sent it to her phone. She was at the airport boarding her flight to come home when she received it. She particularly like the inscription on the giant bar. I don't know how old Molly is ....I'm thinking early 40's. She had no idea I was 60 however! Dcarch - you should receive your rice later this week. And then you can entertain us with the many unusual creations you come up with. I have shared many pounds of rice over the years. But I don't think I have ever known anyone who is so creative and who enjoys the rice as much as you do. Happy Birthday to you ......whenever it is! Teresa, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend.

I hope you celebrate all weekend, and that your boys do something wonderful for you. You know, I was told that when you are over 50, it takes three days to celebrate: One to get ready to celebrate, one to celebrate, and one to recover. If you reach 60, just take the whole week off!
