Can you wear toeless hose?

I would save the pumps for non work dress. Tights and peep toes just don't sound like they would look right at all. It also sounds like you work in a more conservative environment. Closed toe shoes fit that type of place. Peep toes and sandals don't.

What would I have to wear with peep toed shoes??? After considerable thought the only thing that comes to mind is a dunce cap...

If you have to wear opaque tights to cover the tatoos then I would not wear peep toes, I think it would look silly. Normally I would wear nude hose, I don't wear a dress without hose.

Only nail polish -- which is one reason I buy closed-toe shoes.

Thanks for the responses, but I don't think you all read the post. "My work requires nylons or pantyhose with every outfit" is the rule.

I suspect we did all read the post, and were trying to tell you in an oblique way that tights and peep toes are not a great look. No pantyhose at all or sheer nylons would go best with peep toes.
I personally don't think peep toes present a very conservative professional image which it sounds like is the dress code at your work, if you have to wear hose or pants and cover tattoos.

I agree.Tights and peep toes just don't work. Would you have the toes of the tights sticking out of the "peep"?

I've seen sheer hose with peep toes, but that seam in the front looks silly.

The only way hosiery and peep toes would work would be with the "no toe hose" linked to above. I wore those to a wedding once, along with a nice pedicure, and they worked great.

I usually don't wear hose a tall with peep toes. In fact, I avoid wearing hose as much as possible!

Agreed, you could do sheer hose, but definitely not tights.
I think I'd save those shoes for more fun than work occasions. It is unusual these days to require hose. Can I ask what industry you work in? FInancial Services maybe?

A pedicure and polish is the only thing to wear with peep toe shoes. Don't wear them to work.
I volunteer at a hospital where I sit behind a desk. Volunteers are held to the same dress code as employees. We are supposed to wear socks or stockings. In the summer I cheat and wear closed toe shoes with bare feet and longer pants.

Yeah - What they all said. Peephole shoes are very cute, and most of my heels are peeps. But I would never wear any stocking with them. I'd just buy new shoes for work.

I would say if you do, wear opaque or designed tights that do not have a toe seam (or toe gussety thing that is obvious). Or the sheerest nude hose you can get, that do not have a toe seam or obvious toe. I think some companies call it "sheer toe".

I have to say, I prefer the look of tights that really contrast - or hose so sheer and nude colour that it almost looks like you have bare legs - when the toe is open.

buy waterproof makeup and cover the tattoos when you want to wear these opentoe shoes. Just wear the sheer ones with no reinforced toe.

I can NOT go stocking free with shoes . My feet sweat, it becomes quite uncomfortable with out at least nylons. LOL

Gardenspice, I am in the casino business, I am a manager and while peep toes are allowed for management, the upper echelon is also very much sticklers on the dress code. The shoes are SO cute and I haven't found any other grey shoes I like.

Kat, my pants, tights or hose (I wear dancer's nude tights so they look like sheer hose but cover the tattoos) would cover the tattoos.

I may give the dancer's tights a shot tomorrow, we'll see how it goes, otherwise I will wear them on other occasions.

If I was required to wear pantyhose, I wouldn't wear peep-toe shoes to work, just closed-toe shoes.

I wonder if management would be okay with exposed toes? I mean, if they insist on hose, meaning they don't want to see your skin, wouldn't toes be akin to seeing your bare feet?
and how much peep? I am wearing peeps today that show only part of my big toe and part of my second. Hardly a big deal. I have others though that are pretttty peepy.

Oldgardener, I have worn closed toed shoes for years, and I
found these at a great clearance price so I went for them. I would love to wear them to work which is why I asked.

Amyfiddler, Like I said in the original post, we ARE allowed to wear peep toes, but they have to be worn with nylons or tights. Trust me, some of the rules are pretty contradictory, but I didn't write them so I just have to follow them!

AmyGibby, why would I post the question if I didn't want some feedback? And I DID try the dancers tights and they work just fine.

Sorry I wasn't clear...i was referring to the option of wearing the hose that have no toes.
