Guest Picks: Chic Entryway Seating
Encourage guests to remove shoes or just take a load off with one of these benches, ottomans or banquettes in the entry
I am working with several clients right now who prefer that people do not wear shoes in their homes. It's a tricky thing to get people to remove their shoes without feeling like you are forcing them to do something they are uncomfortable with. Most of the time, guests arrive in pairs, so I think that providing seating for two is ideal if room allows. That way, one person is not awkwardly standing and waiting for a turn. Here are some options that could help make it happen. — Stephanie from SabbeSpot
Edie Velvet Chaise, Green
I chose this option while thinking of how hard it is for me to remove my winter boots sometimes. I believe a fainting couch would make things much easier, although I may never get up.
Entryway Bench With 3 Baskets/Cushions, White
This is probably the most practical and the most common shoe bench. I think it could be jazzed up with a new single cushion in a fun fabric across the top.
Reclaimed Wood Bench With Sliding Locker Basket by Urban Wood Goods
This industrial bench would add character to any space. I love the idea of the tracked wire basket below.
Renate Coffee Table Ottoman
I like this bench because it is simple, has a cushion on top and has an open bottom for someone to store a couple of baskets for holding shoes.
Mansfield Robin's Egg Blue Pillowtop Ottoman
The pillow top on this bench makes me want to take a nap just looking at it. I also like the casters on the legs.
Oyster Harper Banquette
This tufted bench would look great with a large mirror above it, and again, the open bottom could help corral shoes.
Archer Bench
This is an elegant, rustic option. Backless benches are nice because they could also slide under or beside console tables.
Reclaimed Barn Wood and Industrial Metal Bench by Dohler Designs
I always try to incorporate handmade pieces into my projects. I love this industrial bench.
