Very pretty!!! What an elegant foyer!

A big vote for a couple of tall buffet type lamps in a darker finish .... or at least one table lamp (maybe a rounder one)?

And perhaps add a pair of lovely small darker-wood stools or antique chairs on each side of the buffet?

You could add a seasonal floral/greenery bouquet in the middle of the buffet .... or perhaps a pretty pot with a silk (or real?) orchid or two?

I tend to think of foyers as practical spaces in the home. They are the transition between outdoors and the cozy privacy of the family home.

A few questions: What will the functions of your foyer be? Is this the chief entrance for the family as a whole, or will you be using another entrance and the foyer will mostly be for receiving guests? If this is for everyday use by the family, you need a place to drop off keys, briefcases and packages as you come in. If this is mostly for guests, then you can focus on the appearance and less on the function.

If you are a shoes-off household, I'd have a small bench or a chair for those guests who need to sit down to get their shoes on/off.

The straight lines of the frame bother me. I think a more ornate frame with some softer lines would better compliment the credenza, iron woork and hanging light fixture.

Beautiful room! I agree, two tall buffet lamps, a more ornate framed mirror, and chairs of some sort on each side of the table when you get it.

Camlan makes a great point also. Our's is on the practical side, but it's more of an entryway and not a foyer. Foyers IMO, are large like your's. Anything smaller is an entryway. Just a pet peeve of mine. LOL

It is for guest only, we don't come in this entry, we use the garage entrance. I love the idea of the stools, must search for those.

With such a classic, old world look, I'd go for a large, abstract painting. What's the painting in the next room?

I think I'd prefer a large painting too. The frame you have for the mirror is too close a match to the credenza and isn't bringing in much added interest. You need something more dramatic to do justice to that space.

I agree with the large painting, it would bring color into your foyer. Love the wall color, what is the name of it?

How about a couple of these ceramic garden stools -- for a dash of color? Maybe they would pick up a color in the painting -- if you choose to add a painting or artwork to the frame? Just a thought!

Just wanted to say I love what you have so far. I think a painting would be great. I could see a more ornate frame, but I also like what you have now. Tall buffet lamps would be great. I think they'd bring a welcoming warm glow to the space.

Yes, I was not loving the frame but it was available and thought it would go. I have an oil print Salvador Dali like, really funky in mylibrary(next room.)

The paint escapes me now, but it is Ben moore, brown greenish. I will try to look online and find for you rose.

What shape of a rug would you do? colors?

Looked up those ceramic stools, colors don't work but I like the way you think teacats of that dimension outside of wood. Great idea!
