No it doesn't Ann.....but I'm not a big fan of hers anyways. I prefer Gorden Ramsey's recipes much better, (not the bad language though) I have bought several of his cookbooks, and love them. According to a friend who works for King World, (part of CBS) the rumor that her show may be canceled is not true.

RR is only behind Dr. Phil in ratings (about 2.5 million viewers per show).

I don't watch her show because I am at work, and her cooking is not my type of cooking.

Potatoes, apples, sausage and honey sounds delicious to me. I'd cook the sausage (turkey or chicken) separately, so that any grease wouldn't be in the final dish. I'd also have teeny amounts of honey, potatoes, and apples, because of the carbs. But it does sound delicious to me.

In the fall/winter, I sometimes cook sauerkraut, onions, beer, kielbasa, granny smith apples, and potatoes with a bit of sugar or honey and caraway seeds to balance if the tang is too much... all in a dutch oven. It's really good to me, so this recipe isn't really revolting.

I don't have cable, so don't watch RR or any other cooking show regularly, but one thing I really like about RR is that she distills cooking ideas down to simple ingredient lists and few steps. And although I make up my own quick recipes, if she can get some people to convert from doing the fast food drive through, and she has basic combinations of ingredients in traditional cooking (i.e., potatoes and kielbasa), I'm all for it.

Used to watch her all the time. First peeve... EVOO and her other Rachelisms. Then her GB... when I realised you could BUY her version... total turn off. I can toss scraps in trash or down disposal but don't need to BUY a bowl for garbage.

Although I don't watch her often because I'm tired of her too many "um, um, um" exclamations, I do like some of her recipes. But potatoes, apples, kielbasa, and honey does not appeal to me - I'd leave off the honey.

If she herself came up with this recipe, it sounds as if she is reaching the end of her creativity?

I'm one of the people that doesn;t like listening to her, and for the most part I don't care for the way she cooks but I have found a couple of recipes of hers that I do like (Her pan fried meatloaf is a fav here) BUT....... the recipe you mentioned gives me pause.

I love kielbasa with potatoes and onions fried very simply, and I love kielbasa with apples and kraut, etc. However the idea of apples and potatoes in the same dish is not appealing to me at all so I guess I can add it to the list of her recipes I will not try.

The combination doesn't bother me except I'd use maple syrup, instead of the honey.
RR doesn't inspire me at all but that's just me.

I am with you most of you. That dish in particular does not tempt the palate and most of the time if she's on I just keep flipping channels. Furthermore, I do not care for being called 'guys'. I'm not a guy. I used to love Emeril and don't know is his show was cancelled but that was one I enjoyed daily from our previous cable provider.

I'm not much of a sausage eater in general, so no, this isn't a recipe I'd make. I do like some of her recipes, not all. But then again, name any chef, cookbook or cook and I might say the same thing. I'm not attracted to every single recipe of anyone's.

I don't have cable either and hadn't actually seen Rachel or any other of the more recent TV cooks in action till I recently got a computer set up to my TV. Now I've seen several of them.

My sons and I watched one entire season of Hell's Kitchen on the computer, and it was FUN. However, a couple of months later, we started watching the next season, and you know what? We quit after one episode. Too much of the same ol' thing I guess. I've checked out two of his cookbooks from the library and didn't copy a single recipe in either one.

I just saw RR on a talk show. I thought her voice sounded much better since she had the vocal cord surgery.

That dish does not sound good to me at all. I don't like cooked apples and I hate sausage. Not the breakfast type but the brat, Polish types.

She must be running out of 30 minute meal ideas.

If it had just been the roasted potatoes and Kielbasa, it still wouldn't have been something I would make, but, it wouldn't have sounded revolting to me. But when she tossed the apples into the same pan with the potatoes I cringed. And, then when she followed with the honey and the kielbasa, I couldn't change the channel quick enough.

Her voice and personality don't bother me. Her recipes don't particularly appeal to me, but I can see why she has a lot of followers.

I don't see any huge problem with this recipe. Though I'm not a kielbasa fan, it sounds like a sweet-savory breakfast combo. Lots of people like maple syrup on their sausage and potatoes... And lots of people like apple in their sausage, as in the apple-chicken breakfast sausage you see around a lot. I don't see how this is that much different from either of those...

That recipe sounds horrible to me too Ann. The potatoes and Kielbasa are fine. No honey and apples on there for me though.

I really like Rachel Ray although I don't watch her talk shows. I really don't like any talk shows. I like her personality and she has come up with some good recipes. I don't like her cute recipe names or words she comes up with like "sammies" and "stoup."

But unlike most folks, I happen to like her personality. She doesn't take herself too seriously and I like that.
Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan in regards to her cooking.
But, if I had more time for TV, I'd rather watch her than some of the other, insipid FN veterans.

I don't tune in to her show but, like someone mentioned above, I think she has connected with a demographic that relates to her cooking style and food combinations. I appreciate that she's getting new cooks into the kitchen, and it's a healthy step up from a steady diet of overprocessed fast food.

The recipe you're asking about, Ann, doesn't appeal to me either. Potatoes, sausage, apples & honey baked together....to me, sounds like a combination I'd find scraped into the dog's dish.

both my girls like to watch her, they say she makes it look like anyone can cook. They complain that her recipes take too many ingredients, though, and so they never make anything she cooks, they just watch her, LOL. I can deal with the EVOO, but the "sammie" thing just bothers me. Excuse me, but sandwich is two syllables and sandwich is two syllables, so how is that any type of abbreviation? Just say "sandwich" for crying out loud.

I also think she sounds a lot better since she had that surgery.

I do add apples to my sausage and sauerkraut, and Mother adds brown sugar to the apples and sauerkraut, but it's always apples OR sweetener, not both and definitely not sweet with potatoes for me, thanks.

I don't think I could stomach potatoes with honey. But the sausage-potato-apple combination sounds pretty tasty.

I thought it might do well with chicken-apple sausage instead of kielbasa. I was wrong.

Regarding the honey, the little bit drizzled on was just to add a touch of sweetness; it's not like the recipe was for potatos glazed with honey. That piece wasn't offensive at all. It was just an uninspired mix of food. Maybe the sausage substitution wasn't a good idea? Dunno, but I won't bother to try it again the "right" way. And if there were to be a next time (there won't) I'd peel the apples.

I don't think I'd add the honey, and haven't tried apples, but like a cross between this recipe and Spacific's we do a mix of roasted veggies (potatoes, sweet potato or winter squash, beets, onions, garlic, carrots) with keilbasa, then top with sauer kraut and a bit of sour cream. I'd think the apples would probably be on par with the sweeter veggies we use. I bet my kids would love it!

It sounds okay except that I think it needs honey mustard not honey.

I really love sausage, potatoes, carrots, onion, and garlic all bundled up in foil and thrown on the grill. Something about that just makes me think of fall or camping, canoeing, hiking. I love it! Never used honey or maple syrup though.

Potatoes,apples,honey and sausage combined just don't appeal to me. In fact, I think it sounds awful.

I don't watch TV, except for my little kitchen TV when I am cooking or ironing, which is quite a bit. I catch a few RR episodes. She is alright, but her EVOO, stoup and sammie is downright boring!

Some recipes will protect you from the coming Zombie Invasion and some will not.

Those of us in the know understand what she is trying to do.

Ann, the dish you describe does not sound like something I would eat. But I like Rachel and do watch from time to time.I recently made a pizza I saw her make.Alfredo sauce, spinach and fresh tomatoes.Cheese of course. It looked good on tv and so did mine. It was wonderful,I will make it again.
