Well, you could drink it, or you could do what I do and mix half ginger ale and half white wine and then I can actually drink the wine, LOL.

You could have a big party and make punch.

PARTY VODKA PUNCH

Cake of ice
Pineapple
Maraschino cherries
Strawberries
Concentrate orange juice
Concentrate lemon juice
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 qts. vodka
Club soda
Ginger ale
Sliced oranges, lemons & limes

Freeze a container of ice to fit into the punch bowl. Add maraschino cherries or strawberries and pineapple chunks to freeze. For color, add grenadine. Make 1 quart orange juice from concentrate and 1 quart lemon juice from frozen concentrate.

Mix 2 cups sugar and add enough water to dissolve. Heat until sugar is thoroughly dissolved. When cooled, add to fruit juices. (The dissolved sugar is the secret of the punch.) Add 1 1/2 quarts vodka, depending upon the number of guests.

Just before serving, add: 1 quart club soda, 1 quart ginger ale. Slice oranges, lemons and limes and add to the punch bowl. Use maraschino cherries or strawberries for each serving.

Or......you could use it to marinate chicken or pork:

Pork Chops with GingerAle Marinade

1 cup ginger ale
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 to 5 dashes Tabasco sauce
6 3/4-inch thick pork loin chops

Place marinade ingredients in a zip-top plastic bag. Squeeze to combine. Add pork chops and marinate several hours or overnight.

Heat grill on high for 5 minutes. Place chops on the grill and cook for 5 minutes per side or until internal temperature of 145 degrees is reached for medium or 160 degrees for well done when instant-read meat thermometer is inserted in center of meat. Total cooking time should be 10 to 12 minutes.

Makes 6 servings.

You could bake a pound cake (although I like lemon better):

Makes 10 to 12 servings

2 1/3 cups sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1/3 cup shortening
5 eggs
2 teaspoons lemon extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup (6 ounces) ginger ale

Preheat oven to 325°F. Coat a Bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray.

In a medium bowl, cream sugar, butter, and shortening. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add lemon extract; mix well. Add flour and ginger ale, alternately. Pour batter into the pan and bake 75 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cake cool 20 to 30 minutes; remove from pan to cool completely.

I keep cans on hand for upset stomachs, but I've been known to just drink it and then I have to buy more for the tummies.

I made a pork loin marinated in ginger ale once, overnight. It was fab. You can reduce the leftover gingerale to make a sauce.

You bought two liters of ginger ale for the bottle???? Why didn't you buy two liters of something you liked? Or just go get a big jug? I apologize, I know that's not what you asked -- Maybe you could add vodka and fruit make slushies -- lots of them.

Thanks Annie and 1pinkmountain! Annie, that's some punch there. We don't drink so probably will consider doing the pork chop. I remember a friend of mine who went and lived in Korea for a couple of years, came home and started cooking meat in soda. He told me the soda acted like tenderizer. I had never tried it though. Yea, the only time we had Ginger Ale at home was for someone's upset tummy. My mother in law always has some at her house because she tends to have a very sensitive stomach. But I hope we won't have to drink it for that purpose. LOL

Annie1971, I bought the 2-liter because that's the only size I could find. They probably have something smaller but we don't drink soda so I have no ideas where they keep the smaller bottles. I picked the Ginger Ale because I'd seen hubby drinking it for his tummy. If I bought something else no one was going to drink it at all. But now I think about it, he's not having an upset stomach so probably won't be drinking it anyway. Silly me.

I would pour it into somethiung else and use the bottle...
Then I would maybe invite the neighbors in for punch?
Or use some for a marinade, and use some for the luiquid in bread.
I have never done it with ginger ale but beer is wonderful as the liquid in a yeast bread.
If I had some ginger ale...I would make this:
3Cups AP flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup "cereal"...wheatena, maltomeal, 7 grain, oatbran...whatever"
1 1/2 tsps salt
1 tsp cinnamon
2 packages yeast, or equivalant
2 T. oil...or butter
1/4 cup honey.
Mix...
warm 1 1/2 cups gingerale to room temp or a little warmer, Slowly work the liquid into the dry ingredients, adding a little more AP flour until it gets so you can knead it
And work in about 1/3 cup chopped dry fruit....perhaps apricots, raisins, maybe figs or dates and a couple of tablespoons of toasted sunflower seeds...or perhaps roll the finished loaf in sesame seeds.
Knead, rise, knock down, let rise, and shape into 2 loaves and bake at 350 for about 45 minutes.
Sound good?

Ice cubes........to save it until someone has an upset tummy or you come up with a great use.

It's great poured over pineapple sherbet and eaten/drank as a float. You can add a little lemon or lime to cut the sweetness, if you like.

Did you try the Plastic wrap over a Bowl ???

Linda C, soda yeast bread? Happy thought indeed! What's the role of the soda in the bread? I first thought it was a sub for sugar then I noticed 1/4 cup of honey.

Denise, I like the ice cube idea. I make water kefir and sometimes it got a bit too strong when fermented for too long. I figure I can add an ice cube of soda to rescue it.

Trsinc, we don't usually do float. It's not the sweetness but the carbonation that my family doesn't like. Hubby doesn't mind but little man and I won't drink it because when the carbonation comes back up it hurts the nose! LOL

Lou, I have not tried the plastic wrap and bowl method. Think I am going to try it tonight. The soda only cost 88 cents so not a big deal. We can always give it to someone else if the plastic wrap method works. By the way, how big of holes and how many holes? Do you put banana peels in the bowl as well?

Lou, I made one last night. I used a skewer to poke a hole then moved around to make it bigger. Had four holes all together. I left it in the kitchen overnight. This morning I looked there was one fruit fly in it. At least we caught one! LOL Will leave it longer to see if the rest will go in for a visit!

Mustangs, I do use seltzer water to make the batter for onion rings once in a while. It does give a nice and fluffy texture to the batter. Good trick!

Hey Lou, just to let you know that my plastic warp bowl trapped 4 fruit flies this morning. Compared to the milk jug trap this one definitely works better. Now I can give the bottle of ginger ale away for those who will enjoy it. Thanks!

My rotting tomato in a custard cup covered with saran with about a dozen holes poked in with a knife tip had easily 20 the next morning..
I think I inhaled more than 4!

I spaced the holes apart, in the plastic so they would have less chance of finding their way out.

Tried both ways side by side, the bottle caught just as many.

I put a little yeast in water, into both.

Pancakes and Waffles Recipe

Ingredients:
2 ½ cups milk ( IÂve been using powdered milk too)
2 eggs ( separated ) .
1/3 cup of Veg. Oil
2 tablespoon of vanilla
Pinch of salt
½ cup Sugar
1 cup of Wheat Flour
4 teaspoons Baking Powder
All Purpose flour
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Mix Pancake Batter
I beat the egg whites first , so I donÂt have to clean the beaters.
Beat the egg whites with a teaspoon of sugar, until peaked.
Add ½ the egg whites to the batter and fold in easy.
Beat the other ½ of the whites until very stiff and fold these in also.
After the pancakes are cooked, I put plastic in between for freezing.
BATTER:
Put the first 6 ingredients ( except egg whites ) in a mixing bowl and beat until smooth.
Put in the Wheat flour, Baking pwd. and some All Purpose flour.
Beat until smooth. Add enough flour to thicken slightly,
(were it leaves ripples while mixing ) not thin and loose.
For Waffles:
Thicken a little more, to where you have to move it around with a spoon,
when it is put on the waffle iron . Then do the egg white thing as in the pancake batter.
When baked I cool them fast on a rack and put them in a plastic bag,
and right in the freezer.
If you overcook a little, dampen slightly with water,
before you put them in the toaster oven.
As for the waffle iron , I have a very old round one with adjustable heat Range.
It makes a waffle about ½ inch + thickness. For me this is just right,
for the amount of butter and syrup that you can put on top.
I found a Cuisinart mod.WMR-CA to match my old one.

Now I can make Waffles in Stereo

I donÂt use the Belgium Waffle Maker ; except when IÂm adding
Ice cream and fruit topping , because itÂs too much waffle for the
amount of syrup and butter. But may be good for you.!

If I want a Belgium Waffle, I just make a double decker and
put fruit or whatever filling in between.
With Ice cream on top.
Then you have more cooked surface area , on the Waffles.
Which is where the flavor is ( the cooked surface )

LOLOL Linda! I think the fruit flies like me too. Whenever we eat dinner, the fruit flies just hover around me, never my husband or our son. Think it's the balsamic vinegar that I used in my salad. When they got close to my face hubby couldn't stand it and tried to kill them without slapping me on the face. LOL So far, there are 6 or 7 of them in the bowl; they keep moving so I can't really count them. Anyway, so far I think the bowl is doing a good job. I don't have any fruit flies in front of my face at lunch time. But again, I didn't eat salad for lunch. Will find out at dinner time when I begin to eat.
