LOOKING for: Crockpot beef stew with ginger ale

Hi--I found a wonderful recipe in the spring on this forum that used stew beef, mushrooms, mushroom soup, and ginger ale. It was absolutely declicious, and now I can't find it! Might someone be able to share it again? Thanks!

This one isn't done in a crockpot but it does have ginger ale in it. It was posted by Angelaid.

No Peek Casserole

This is a recipe that my family literally will fight over. It makes a delicious gravy (what they fight over) and absolutely nothing to making it.I double the recipe and there is still none left at the end of the meal.
No Peek Casserole
2 lbs stew meat (I use 3 lbs)
1 can Campbell's Chicken Mushroom Soup
1/2 cup Ginger Ale
1 pkg Lipton Onion Soup Mix
1 4 oz jar mushrooms, drained (optional)

Preheat oven to 300. Combine ALL ingredients (DO NOT brown meat and DO NOT dilute soup with water) together. Mix well. It will be lumpy before it's cooked. Pour into a casserole dish and cover. Bake 2 1/2 to 3 hours. DON'T PEEK!! Serve over pasta, rice or mashed potatoes. The smell as it's cooking is WONDERFUL

I haven't tried Guinness myself, either as a drink or as a cooking ingredient, but the week after Christmas, I traveled to Bethesda, Maryland with my daughter and four of the grand kids. One night, we ate at the Harp and Fiddle Irish pub, and my 16-year-old grandson ordered Guinness beef skewers. He hasn't stopped talking about them yet--says they were the best "steak" he's ever had! I'd think it was just a teen excited about alcohol, but until we told him, he didn't know what Guinness was :) If the stuff's that good on beef strips, I can't imagine that it would be bad in stew.

LOL Annie, come on over. Will do ginger ale pancakes puffs here. Lou, we got ONE this morning! LOL But honestly we don't see as many of them flying around as usual. Maybe they spread the word about our new trap and most of them had fled for their life? LOL Those singing frogs are so cute! I probably need a bigger trap to catch them.

CROCKPOT MACARONI AND CHEESE 8 oz. elbow macaroni, cooked and drained 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided 1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk 1-1/2 cups milk 2 eggs 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper Place cooked macaroni in slow cooker that has been coated with nonstick cooking spray. Reserve 1 cup cheese; add rest of cheese and the other ingredients to the macaroni. Mix well. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Cook on HIGH at least 2-1/2 hours. Do not remove cover or stir until ready to serve. Recipe courtesy of Mr. Food. RED-COOKED RIBS FOR CROCKPOT 3/4 cup hoisin sauce 3 Tblsp. dark soy sauce 2 Tblsp. mirin (Chinese wine - substitute dry sherry if you can't find it) 1 Tblsp. minced fresh ginger - I use more 1 Tblsp. honey 5 garlic cloves, minced 1 tsp. ground allspice 1 Tblsp. grated orange zest - I use dried 1/2 to 1 tsp. crushed hot red pepper 6 scallions, cut diagonally into 1-inch pieces 1 (8 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts 3 pounds country-style pork ribs, trimmed of fat 1. In a small bowl, mix together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sherry, ginger, honey, garlic, allspice, orange zest, and hot pepper. 2. Place 1/3 of the scallions and water chestnut slices in a slow cooker (3-1/2 quart or larger). Top with some of the ribs and spoon some of the sauce. Repeat ending with the sauce. 3. Cover and cook on low for 9-10 hours or until the ribs are done. COMPANY CHICKEN CASSEROLE FOR CROCKPOT 8 oz. egg noodles 3 cups chicken, cooked, diced 1/2 cup celery, diced 1/2 cup green pepper, diced 1/2 cup onion, diced 4 oz. mushrooms, canned, drained 1/2 cup chicken broth 1/2 cup parmesan cheese 2 Tblsp. butter, melted 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated 1/2 tsp. basil 1-1/2 cups small curd cottage cheese 1 can cream of chicken soup Cook noodles according to package directions until barely tender; drain and rinse thoroughly. In large bowl, combine the remaining ingredients with the noodles, making sure the noodles are separated and coated with liquid. Pour mixture into a greased crockpot. Cover and cook on LOW for 6-10 hours. Can cook on HIGH for 3-4 hours. Serves 6.

This is my favorite Brunswick Stew recipe. I've made it for years and always thought it was better than any made outdoors in big black pots by the local police dept. or by local churches. My recipe doesn't have any squirrel, rabbit, or roadkill in it and my area of the Piedmont region of North Carolina always put potatoes in not rice. The seasonings, including the bottle of catsup, are what make this taste so good, but you have the option of putting lots of seasoning in or just a little. You can change up the meats used if you want. Old South Brunswick Stew 1 (4-5 lb.) hen 2 lbs. boneless beef stew meat 1 lb. onions 3 lbs. potatoes, peeled 2 (16oz.) cans tomatoes 2 (16oz.) cans cream style corn 1 (16oz.) can green peas or same amount of frozen peas 1 (16oz.) can lima beans or same amount of frozen limas (I prefer the small butter beans) 1/2 to 1 14oz. bottle catsup 1/3 to 1/2 small bottle Worcestershire sauce 1/3 to 1/2 cup cider vinegar 1/3 to 1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice 2 to 4 t. Tobasco sauce 2 t. salt black pepper Cook hen and beef in large pot with water to cover. Cook until well done and meat leaves the bone easily. Grind meat and set aside or pick meat from bones and flake into small thin bits, both the beef and the chicken. (This step can be done the day before, refrigerate broth and remove fat when it has hardened on the surface.) Put onions and peeled potatoes through a food grinder or dice small, but not fine. Add all vegetables, meat,and seasonings to the broth and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally for 2 to 3 hours. Smash up the potato cubes as you stir. (If stew is not thick enough at the end of the cooking time, you can add some instant potato flakes to thicken it.) Serve hot with crackers or cool, pour into containers and freeze. Yields 5 to 6 quarts.

Hi,
I am new here and looking at all of these delicious recipes. I am trying to find some good recipes to take me through the winter when we can longer BBQ. This one looks great so I bought all of the ingredients yesterday.

DH loathes onions and mushrooms, but I could probably get away with the onions, but I would end up sitting across from him as he picked out all of the mushrooms, no matter how miniscual.

Can I substiture the chicken mushroom with plain chicken noodle? Or even just use beef stock?

Thanks. Hoping to get this on the table tonight.

Why not use Cream of Chicken or Cream of celery??

I made this last night and used cream of chicken. I did double the recipe so we had lots of gravy. I think had I not doubled the gravy, it would have not been enough at all.

Anyway, DH LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it!!! It was great. I had it with rice since my two young children love rice, but it would have been delicious with mashed potatoes and the yummy gravy.

Thanks so much. Looking forward to trying so many more recipes from this great site.

I've made this recipe twice in a month since I found it on here.

It literally takes 5 minutes to whip it together, and the wife and kids love it.
