Help! Exterior paint color ideas with brick step enclosure!
Comments (3)I think your home is beautiful! I would go with a dark gray that matches the rock and I would paint the brick enclosure to match as well, a shade darker or lighter. Trim would be pretty bright white. I just love grays though. Maybe keep the red door or change to black. You have lots of options. :)...See MoreFull brick on main level of home? Good idea? Color?
Comments (42)@cda1028, At that time we lived in Western Washington State. Our neighborhood was developed at the same time this home was and was very well built. At the time it was built, the developer left it very "tree infested" to draw buyers, I guess. In the 30-40 years thereafter, other developments were built around us removing many trees. When we bought the house we removed 4 of the 5 large firs on our property because we were on the top of a hill overlooking the bay and received forceful winds. To answer your questions, our H/O insurance rates went down after the large OLD evergreens were removed or blown over. At that time, about 15 years ago, tree removal was between $600. & $1000. dollars a tree, depending whether or not you wanted the roots bored out. We now, for the past 10 years, are living in sunny Arizona and don't miss the trees or rain at all. The landscape danger here is saguaro cacti dying from within and falling into sidewalks, houses and cars parked nearby. Believe me it happens often. They are just as dangerous as large evergreen trees. There are just some plants/trees, etc. that should be left out of the residential home landscape....See MoreNeed ideas for exterior paint to go with pink brick on ranch house
Comments (5)Dark gray or medium gray for the stucco above the brick - yes. Paint garage door to match the stucco color you ultimately choose. Paint your front door an accent color. Choose your accent color after you have painted the stucco and garage door. Your green front door might even work as is depending upon the stucco color you select. I like how these colors work with the brick on the insp pic below. Shutters - no. Remove them. You don't need them. Here is a brief article why they won't ever work on those windows https://www.lifeofanarchitect.com/residential-architecture-101-shutters/ Landscaping would really help with your curb appeal. It makes a huge difference on how your home is presented to the world. Comments (3)Yes, the garage will bring the right side at least as far the left wing, probably farther. I think that left bedroom is probably about 1.5 cars wide, so the garage will be wider. We haven't decided on front or side garage doors but I'm sure my husband would rather have side and I'm fine with that. He also wanted to move the door to the center, but we ended up moving so many windows and walls around that he eventually decided it was too much work and decided to let it stay. It would have been nice for the flow inside to move it, and maybe one day, but probably not. I think if the arches go that it will also make the view from the house better/let in more light. They aren't exactly well done to begin with......See Moretheclose
