Paint Design Dilemma Exterior

Need ideas for exterior paint to go with pink brick on ranch house

i want to create more curb appeal with exterior paint. I don’t want to paint brick portion. I was thinking dark grey with black shutters and garage door, but not sure that would work. Any ideas would help! Thank you!

No shutters, shutters need to look like they could be functional and there is no way shutters ever will on those windows..

Dark gray or medium gray for the stucco above the brick - yes.

Paint garage door to match the stucco color you ultimately choose.

Paint your front door an accent color. Choose your accent color after you have painted the stucco and garage door. Your green front door might even work as is depending upon the stucco color you select. I like how these colors work with the brick on the insp pic below.

Shutters - no. Remove them. You don't need them. Here is a brief article why they won't ever work on those windows

Landscaping would really help with your curb appeal. It makes a huge difference on how your home is presented to the world.

I like the Kendall charcoal, on the house. However, it definitely does not go with your brown colored roof. I also like the garage door, painted the same color as the house, regardless of what color you use. I see you have some stone walls there. Pick a color from that stone for the house, that also goes with the color of your roof. What you actually have right now, looks very nice.

I agree about the shutters. And I would remove the window boxes and planters. Take a hard look at the house and figure out what specific things bother you. Overall, I think it’s a beautiful home, except for the shutters which feel like an add-on to me. The landscaping might be a little dated. You could consider something with more organic lines. Maybe a flower garden that winds its way through the front yard and looks like a lake or river of flowers. I saw a home with a slope that looks like your first pic, and their front yard flower yard flowed down to the edge of the property. The neighbors were always asking the owner for flowers. This is not the best pic but it gives you an idea of the kinds of lines you could do down the slope. Vary the widths of the flower garden and put as many colors and flower types in there as you want. Use better mulch. Unless you prefer something more formal or don’t want to deal with a flower garden.

Similar to Emily's suggestion above I would start out with trim colors that are more similar to the hue your brick. You can either match one of the colors in the brick or go a little darker or lighter. This will give your house a consistent look that I feel will most likely subdue the red undertone. Contrasts have a good chance of playing up the red tones in the brick. The raw yellow color of the trim is showing you this right now. Going more gray or cool than the brick will likely do the same thing, playing up rather than playing down the pink undertones. A green might work by theory of complimentary colors, but you would need to try out a few to see what happens.

You don’t have a mid-century modern ranch, you have a mid-century ranch but the hip roof and shutters plus the taller roof-line give it away as a French style mid-century ranch. Basically it was a kitsch mid-century ranch style that took styling queues from French provincial. Yours is a very toned down version of this, lacking some of the more ornate stone and arch details you would somtimes see on this style of ranch, but the shutters, multi-lite tall windows, and brick are all halmarks of this style. https://west-south.com/ranch-house-style-curb-appeal/#french I also agree don’t paint the brick, but ALSO don’t get rid of your windows or shutters. Your house is the architectural style it is, you can’t hide it. The problem is the color of the shutters and trim. The stark white trim and black shutters is in fact in line with a traditional french country brick house, but it isn’t for everyone. I’d look into a softer white or cream trim and a less harsh shutter color that still contrasts with the brick but isn’t as hard as the solid black. Also yes: landscaping would help immensely.

No shutters and I always like this grayed green with brick and make sure to paint the garage door. The rest is landscaping. A new front door with more glass would be nice too

I also have a pink ranch. I painted the trim a dark taupe and the door is a medium warm green.
