Happy Friday!

I am glad this week is almost over. It has been one of those weeks again. In the last two weeks, we have been to either the Vet or the Animal Hospital 11 times. At least the 19 month old pup is finally showing some improvement. She still has a long way to go, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Today is errand day here. I only have about a million errands to run today. The rest of the weekend it is supposed to be raining and I am thrilled. It should give me the incentive to finish the drapes that I have been making. All that is left to do is the pinch-pleating. It wouldn't be time consuming except that there are three large windows that have to be dressed. That is a lot of pinch-pleats.

I am glad your pup is improving. Give her a snuggle for me. I am off with the kids to Westchester county for my brother's wedding. He is the last to get married, and at 48, I wasn't sure it was going to happen!
It will be a huge family party with lots of cousins.

Jo, have fun at the wedding. I'll be doing that in a couple of weeks. Hard to believe Erin's wedding is almost here already!

It is another beautiful day here, but I sure wish we would get some of the rain they keep promissing. It is so dry I feel like I am in the Sahara!

Have to work 1/2 day tomorrow, and going on a garden tour on Sunday.

Have to work in a trip to the hospital to visit my "step-dad", too.

Will clink a bit later.....I am sure I'll need a glass of wine by the end of the day.

"Shake and Bake" refers to the nickname given to the state of California, which it is not only named for, but it is the state flower for :) California is often referred to as "Shake and Bake, USA WELL DUH!...lol, FANNA WHO IS Hysterical laughing at herself for FORGETTING THIS FACT about Callie! See I am afraid to TRY any Poppy for breadseed because what if someone sends one they THINK is safe and it isn't? JASMINE, I ACCIDENTLY TYPED THE WRONG NUMBER! All is WELL it WAS Margos I was working on and since I believe I meanted the gift she gave me it was clear it was just a slip of the finger or brainwave or something along those lines..... Lisa I stayed up last night til 5:00 am or would that be stayed up this morning til? Oh well, which ever that is what I did. Happy TGIF everybody! Nancy, we love MB...last time I was there saw a sign on the restaurant for "Twofers"...got excited until I saw the tank full of frogs! :) Chase, enjoy the nice weather at the cottage! Spring has sprung! amck, after 12+ years in Bedford I never did learn to like hockey but I'll cheer the old team on anyway! Looking forward to baby pixs also. Alexa, have fun visiting with your friend & stay out of trouble! Jessy, oh...I LOVE Marie Callenders' German Chocolate Pie (actually, I love them all!). Duane, that's so cool you're taking care of Roxie! Grace, I'm envious of your horses. It sounds like such fun. Linda, enjoy the show. Our's was a couple weeks ago...a dud. Hope your's is better. Linda, don't work too hard. Annie, is Elery in town this weekend? I imagine Copenhagen is a real mess! Ellen, please post the 1946 Mac 'n Cheese recipe! Have fun at the B-day party! Diane, isn't it great to be able to garden again?! I'll have flowers in a couple weeks. Deanna, it doesn't sound like fun but, hopefully, you're almost done with that project & can move on to something that is!! Cathy, it's not "Yard Work"...it's "GARDENING"! lol Don's on his way home now...probably about at Old Saybrook (30-40 minutes away). I'm making breakfast for dinner because it's easy to fix quickly when he gets in rather than trying to time something for an unknown arrival. Tomorrow, we have an appointment with a REALTOR (why do they capitalize all of the letters?) to look at a house on Beebe Pond overlooking the Mystic River. We've been looking since Feb. '07 & this is at least the 20th house he's shown us. We are soooo pickey! Also, this is a sad weekend. We are boatless in Mystic. As unbelievable as it sounds considering the economy this guy from CA wanted to buy our Nordic Tug. So, we sold it to him. We wintered her in Annapolis, he saw her, & fell in love. The Homeland Security documents cleared last Friday & escrow closed this Tuesday. She's on her way right now to CA...overland. It's costing him a small fortune 'cause her beam exceeds legal limits, without special permits. Crazy, we would have run her through the Canal. Maybe, he's afraid of such a long trip being a new captain? So, we've got a garage full of "boat stuff" to do something with. :( Please help me say, "Good-bye", to her. /tricia

sharon, you definitely got a keeper with that one! Chase, have a great week and relax about that trip. Everything will happen anyway, it'll be fine. Nancy, have some fun, don't just clean. Diane, 18 grand kids? Wow, I have my hands full with two of them, LOL. I'll be keeping that Marine of yours in my prayers, that he comes back safe and sound and that DIL's pregnancy goes well and uneventfully. Here? I'm fixing fence. Again. Elery and I fixed fence on Saturday, again on Monday. Horses need to be groomed, post holes need to be dug, manure....um....fertilizer needs to be spread on the garden and tilled in. Pens need to be cleaned and my yard needs raking and, well, it's spring. 65 and sunny tomorrow, so I'll work outside all day. 50 and rain on Sunday, so I'll bake a coffee cake and start some cinnamon rolls, Administrative Professional's Day is Wednesday, I'm taking breakfast for my office staff on Tuesday morning because Wednesday Elery and I are going to visit his Dad and stepmom in Ohio. She's back in the hospital, she's never really recovered from that heart surgery last year. I feel horrible for his Dad, Elery's Mom died three years ago, his Dad married Francis and now she's so ill. Sigh. Anyway, TGIF, I have lots to do this weekend and only two weeks until we meet Chase in Grand Rapids for supper! Hooray!! Annie

Happy Weekend everyone!

Linda I'm so sorry you have had to visit the vet so often and hope that your pup is well on the mend. Our new kitty is also feeling better now and her stomach seems to have settled so I won't be calling our vet any more (I hope.) I used to sew drapes and know what a big job that is. Take care.

Jo I'm sure you will have a wonderful time. I love being present at my Canadian family gatherings as there are so many of us. Have fun!

Linda I wish I could join you on the garden tour. I did one last week and they are one of my favourite outings.

Well it's warm and sunny again here and we need rain but I guess we'll just have to keep turning on the sprinkler. I'm in day two of a strict diet and do miss my glass of wine with lunch!

So I'll say Happy Friday to everyone and clink with my glass of (sob) water.

Linda, I'm glad to hear the pup is doing better, hang in there. (Get it? Drapes? Hang in there? Oh never mind...)

The Other Linda: Only a couple of weeks? Are you ready? does the celebration have anything to do with Leopards? LOL Congratulations to Erin, her fiancee passed the CF test and we approve!

Jo, have a great time at the wedding. At least he's old enough to know what he wants, LOL. I just kind of shake my head when I see these 18 year olds wandering blindly and happily into marriage, and wish they'd get a couple of years under their belt first. Of course, I did the same thing at 18, so go figure.

Here we need rain. It's supposed to rain, but it doesn't. Like Doucanoe, I think I'm in the Sahara here. A couple of weeks ago we had flash floods, federal disaster areas, things were washing away. Now nothing. Nada. The pasture is too big to sprinkle.

So, it looks like I'll spend the weekend doing a rain dance, LOL. I want to pick some more sweet cherries, they're prolific this year and sweet and good. The apple trees need spraying, the garden needs tilling, I need to work on the duck pen so I can let the little ducks out of their coop. I need to walk the fenceline and make sure that rental bull stays right where he belongs, with my two redheaded ladies. And I want to bake Jojoco's summer torte, maybe Sunday if I pick cherries again tomorrow.

Elery is on his 12 hour weekend shifts, so he won't be back here until Sunday evening, I'm on my own. Oh, and the pool needs cleaning too!

TGIF for sure...been on the road all week..good to be home. I need to catch up here ... hope to do so over the weekend.

Linda, hope the pup continues to get better.

Jo, have a great time with the family at the wedding! My favorite part is the cake....okay the dancing too.

Linda, hope you get some rain and that all is cool with your Stepdad.

Annie, I'll do the rain dance with you if it helps. Sorry to hear that Elery has to work all weekend. You need a pool boy or one of those automatic cleaners.

Sharon, hope that new kitty is doing well and putting on some weight.

My DN is spending the night tonight with a friend of hers while their parents go to the Rocklahomla concert. I'll be there tomorrow night with my group. It's a four day concert featuring all the big hair bands from the eighties. We will pretend to be young rockers again..lol That's it for me other than chillin' by the pool and normal chores.
