Funny you mention men's pants. I came to the conclusion this week that I have without a doubt hit the old, unhip, out of touch stage of life. I can't stand the skinny pants for men. They are just so I attractive to me!

My husband was a polished dresser, even ironed his jeans. But he had one pair worn constantly working on cars and the farm. I thought they were going to become part of a historical exhibit. Patched and mended those forever and finally had to convince him they were beyond saving. Was not an easy convince, comfort definitely ruled.

Lately there are a lot of fabric/decor, shoes and clothes that are sewn with the raw seam edge on the outside. And they aren't inexpensive either. While I like a bit of casual/rustic, can't imagine this lasting long as a full use. Guess this leads to more worn to enhance the direction.

Akin to RH and their "worn" furniture. Thought about their recent catalog and decided a designer must have had Tin Types in there vision creating those rooms.

In the scheme of such, we could start being really concerned if new cars begin offering rusty paint or add-ons.

Will be interesting to see how long this worn look lasts. Although the jean thing has been around for a few years.

A longtime trend: I can't stand the scoop necks and v necks being so low! Crew necks are unflattering on me. I always have to wear a tank top or something underneath. Not everyone wants to show off their chest while at the grocery store, etc.!

I'm a jeans and sneakers "girl" (though I do like to wear heels and jewelry for dinners out and dress-up occasions!). I hate when my jeans are too tight, like them to be flattering, but comfort rules. I still won't buy pre-ripped jeans (if they fit perfectly, made me look taller and thinner, and were amazingly marked down in price...maybe). Honestly, with the price of "designer" jeans these days, I cannot see spending $$$ on torn and sometimes dirty-looking jeans, and I'm someone who is happiest in broken-in jeans and running shoes!

LOL, showing my age, but when I was in college, the ripped and acid washed jeans were in style.

I remember my mom's tsk tsk remark "If I made you wear those you would cry!"

In her days of early childhood during the end of the depression and scarcity of WWII, it was not a sign of excess leisure to have ripped jeans.

In fact my dad has never worn jeans, as in his upbringing they were considered working class only attire. Now that he is retired he wears Dockers pants or shorts depending on the season, lands end polos (thank God still making them with the pocket and in mens small), and crew socks and dressy hiking shoes or Birkenstocks. Knows what he likes.

I find jeans like the ones you posted pretentious. Dirt stains and rips? They only mean something if you really earned them, not by plopping money down for them. Not to mention, those rips are not in the normal areas of wear, unless caused by getting caught on a nail.

I have a somewhat hard time with the concept of designer jeans any way. While I want my jeans to be at least somewhat flattering, I need them to move and work with me, not just look pretty. Kind of like the pretty $60K trucks you see around. Why have all that power if you are not going to use it?

While I love love love men in hats I loathe grown men in baseball hats. Baseball hats have been a trend for a while now. My husband started wearing them on the golf course but now wears a baseball cap while running errands. It looks stupid! At a certain age itâÂÂs just wrong. I long for the ole days (mostly before I was born) when men wore all those very cool hats to work⦠and the rest of the time too.

Another fashion trend I never got was the low riding pants with the droopy crotch and the boxers showing. They have really jumped the shark on this one...now they make them with the boxer tops sewn in to avoid a wardrobe malfunction. Isn't that why they invented belts?

Those droopy pants make me snort. What kind of decision making skills can you possibly expect from someone who can't even figure out their pant size?

I like destroyed denium and own two pair but mine don't look dirty like the one you posted. There's also a limit to the holes for me.

I dislike jeans with too much white in them. I don't want it to look like I sat in bleach. I usually stick with solid dark wash/indigo jeans but own a few lighter pairs.

I dislike low tops and find myself reaching for tank tops to layer. I don't want to see your chest and you don't need to see mine.

I dislike skinny jeans on men. I find nothing masculine about that.

I dislike leggings worn as pants. The shirt should cover your rump.

I dislike the pants falling down.

I dislike thin shirts. Cheap, cheap.

I never thought of baseball caps as a trend. Haven't people always wore them? Hmm. I like them on anyone and also like them torn.

I dislike those colored gummy bracelets people wear for different causes. Actually I don't care if other people wear them. Someone I know is going through breast cancer and someone else gave my husband and I the pink bracelets. I can't bring myself to wear it and he'll never wear anything pink. IMO, wearing it isn't helping anything. And as far as for 'support' I don't believe everyone feels that way. (BTW - person with breast cancer is doing well)

I dislike first knuckle rings. Very 90s.

AnnieD, I read a while back that the trend of the droopy pans with the underwear showig started in the prisons. It was a sign to other inmates that they were 'available' for sexual 'favors'.

Our old house was near a high school. We would see guys wearing their pants like this all the time. Never a belt and always walking with one hand holding their pants up. And the girls wearing shorts so tight and short that they might as well have been wearing thongs. And their tank tops so low and so short that they were little more than a bra. What ever happened to dress codes in school?

I thought the droopy drawer look was prison related...but only in that prison clothes are usually ill-fitting, and they won't let you have belts. But then again, don't a lot of prisons require orange jumpsuits?

Another trend that I wish would go away are ankle breaker shoes. Fashion should lie between sensible and extreme. And it shouldn't cause serious injury. Get a load of this poor gal trying to simply walk in her extreme platform boots.

Those low hanging jean "bags"...I can't watch the Justin. B videos with my grandkids. He is always grabbing at them like they are bugging him privately. And yes I know other singers do this, but at least they can dance too. I'm starting to sound like my mother during teen years.

I'm into "jeggings", the ones that have stretch to them, not the ones that are low riders. They are so darn comfortable and available in different colors of denim fabrics. Look like jeans with pockets/sewing details. My standard jeans are now stagnant and age wise will not be going back. If they change the style, hoping for a bit wider cuff, but same options.

It is definitely harder to find tops as mentioned. Can't do the short length hitting my waist, prefer my backside be covered at least to hips. For casual I started buying men's small to get the length. Many of the styles are duplicates of tops in the women's dept. They actually have some decent designs, fabric and colors now, small banded neck, etc. Nothing with buttons that says mens, but even their sweatshirts work far better giving some length. And the same manufact. is less expensive for an identical item in womens. Wonder if the men know their clothing is also being sold in the women's dept.

Hoodies - I'm tired of having that mass of fabric behind my head. But it seems that all of the warm zip and pullover tops that are not made of fleece - which is a dog fur magnet - have hoods. I look like Quasimoto when I wear a coat over a hoodie sweatshirt.

I have never contributed to the hate trends threads so I wouldn't offend anyone. That said I will now say I really hate the low riding pants!!!

distressed jeans are still going strong though and I like the look when it's well pulled together, I don't wear them because I'm 61, it would look like I'm trying too hard to be hip.

I wear skinny jeans and leggings, they suit me. I have tons of long cardigans and sweaters.

I'm no spring chicken and can still wear 3-1/2 inch heels. The stability of the shoe and fit on your foot is very important. So many shoes are cheaply made and no one will be able to walk in them. The girl in the video obviously picked one of those cheap shoes/boots. You have to try many pairs and be very picky.

We lived in Tokyo for a few years and I was entertained by watching many of the younger women trying to be fashionable ... they will buy a shoe even if it too big ... you can hear them coming ... CLOP, CLOP, CLOP ... they looked like toddlers trying to walk in their mother's shoes!

Recently shopping and saw a guy holding up his pants to about his mid-thigh.
His entire boxer shorts were exposed.
I restrained myself from walking over and jerking his pants up to waist level and introducing him to the concept of a belt.

In my opinion, anyone who walks around holding up his pants is a confirmed idiot.
