Another post on what gets posted on this side
Comments (58)Hello Friends ~ Well..I guess I would be considered an 'oldie' and I too remember the days of Spike! I believe it is beneficial for a member, any member, to occasionally remind everyone of the rules (and 'yes' they are the rules of Garden Web) to keep some semblance of order! If a member is unsure of where to post a topic, just ask! We are all here to help and learn from one another. Also, if you notice your post has been moved from one side of the board to the other, do not take offence rather look upon it as a favor from a fellow Junker! While I do not want to revisit previous situations, I believe that Wired's post regarding two members needs to be clarified. I cannot address the member 'Brenda' as I do not remember her nor that situation but I do recall the member named 'Connie' and too insinuate that members were "Jealous" and "Ran her off" is to misstate the situation. Connie did indeed have some great Junk and was a creative person as Wired states but she began posting pictures of her interior design skills, which would have been appropriate on the Conversations side of the board but she insisted on posting them on the Discussions side. The more members tried to help her understand this error and ask her to move her postings, the nastier she and the situation became! Unfortunately, it culminated in her leaving on less then favorable terms. I come here, not as often as I would like to as of late, to learn from other members creativity and experience. I believe both sides of our board have merit. If a member chooses not to share on the Conversation side of the board, that is fine but it is where those of us that want, to get to know each other a little better and share more then just our passion for Junk! *Good order is the foundation of all things.--Edmund Burke (Reflections on the Revolution in France)* Della :)...See MoreAnother fashion Q: Dressier shoes with jeans
Comments (48)I, too, find spring shoes a trial. I think something along the lines of Mizgg's 3rd & 4th pictures (not necessarily as high if you don't like the height) are what you should be considering. Some of those peep toe booties are cute, never thought I'd say such a thing, and I think they wouldn't actually be too cold during most of the awkward temperature weather since so much of the foot is covered. But you wouldn't know until you tried them so it could be an expensive mistake. I can't wear any shoe that exposes the top of my foot (ballet flats, any low vamp loafer) until it's truly sandal weather (and then I wear sandals) but I'd be willing to gamble on a peep toe since the top of my foot is covered. When I transition from ankle boot until sandals, I wear something along the lines of Mizzgg's open back clogs. I dislike a pump with jeans but that's me, if it works for you, then work it, girl....See MoreAnother day, another post!
Comments (6)It looks like something has decided your tree is a tasty snack. I don't have experience with this type of damage or pest but something I use when I treat with Neem/HO or occasionally when I folier feed my trees is Dyna-Gro's Pro-teKt, It says that it helps with building stronger cell walls in the plant and helps boost its resistance to pests and fungal infections. I have no idea how well it actually works if at all but I use it as my emulsifier instead of soap with the Neem/HO and my leaves seem like they are doing well enough. I have old pest damage from when the trees were purchased but nothing new since then. Here is the link if you want more info http://dyna-gro.com/product/pro-tekt-0-0-3/ Hopefully someone can chime in with a pest ID and treatment....See MoreAnother fashion challenge...
Comments (86)Update: The event was yesterday and it was a wonderful success! It was sunny and 90 degrees but we were only outside for a brief time - maybe 10 minutes. I fully intended to wear the white suit that smh found but I had a wardrobe malfunction at the last minute. The belt broke! I had already ordered the navy blue dress and would have returned it but the return shipping to the UK was high so I ended up keeping it. I wore that dress and it was really flattering and quite nice. I wore simple gold ball earrings and a gold chain link bracelet and it was professional and comfortable. BTW, I was very impressed with the quality of the Winser London dress - if you find something you like and there is a free shipping promotion, I highly recommend. Thank you to everyone who helped with ideas and suggestions. I still love the white suit but need to figure out how to fix the belt :(. I can also say that the Oribe hairspray was fabulous! Thanks mimi! Simple Dress...See Moreeld6161
