Grandma- enjoy that new granddaughter and the hockey games.

As usual, I have doggie classes at noon today. Then I am off for a sisters weekend of shopping and eating. It is supposed to rain Sat. so we may just end up with the eating part. At least it is a weekend away for the two of us. On Sun. we are hoping to meet a rescue doxie that we are considering adopting. If this adoption goes through I will have to change my screen name to mom of 3 doxies.

Hope those of you that are getting together this weekend up in Chicago have a great time.

amck, congratulatons again on 'Cilla (wonderful name, BTW). Enjoy the game. I'm asuming you're heading to the Verizon Wireless Arena? We used to live in the North End so you'll be less than a mile from our last house...straight up Elm St. Have fun!

Well, we made an offer on that house we looked at last weekend. We made a 95% offer (plus asked that the pool table stay); but, the seller countered back at just $1K under listing price. Made DH mad...said the seller's not negotiating in good faith & DH refused to counter back. So, guess that's dead in the water. Oh well, it only took us 25 MONTHS to find a place we liked well enough to make an offer! :(

Tomorrow's supposed to be nice so we'll do some gardening. We've got a small hardscape project on deck for this year...we're hoping to get the area cleared tomorrow.

There will be lots of activity at the marina tomorrow for spring commissioning so we'll hang out there when we get tired of gardening. Feels strange to not have a boat anymore. I told DH I'm going to launch the dinghy, tie up in our slip, & just sit there harrassing everybody scrubbing, waxing, bottom painting, etc. :) Right now, the October boat shows seem like an eternity away...I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas. :)

It's supposed to rain Sunday so I've got a "Honey Do" list for DH.

Tricia, I am sorry to hear that the deal is not working smoothly on the house. Maybe the seller will reconsider.

Not a lot planned for today (I am painting the Florida room) but tomorrow we are headed to Center City (to Helium on Sansom Street) for DH to make his Stand-Up Comedy Debut. We will probably go out for dinner to an Argentinean Steak House that he has been talking about - I guess they serve the meat on swords or some such thing... Sounds interesting as long as there is Chimmichurri and a great Malbac to go along wiht it.

Sunday we are going out for Brunch with some friends and the kids. Ca you say Bloody Marys and Mimosas for the crowd?

We have Austin( 11) for the weekend -- his parents going for a couple days "anniversary" date-- nothing special planned except out to Annie's for breakfast Sunday a.m.
& "the guys" are building a new flatbed on a frame Doc scronged up over the winter.

Tricia, it sounds like you're having boat withdrawal! I went through the same thing when we sold our RV two years ago. I was in a funk for weeks.... hated to see the new owners drive away with it!

We're headed for New Orleans for our church's diocesan convention (90 miles and DH is a delegate). We'll be going out to dinner with a group of 10 from our church and someone has made reservations at an Italian restaurant that has good reviews. On Saturday, I'll hang out and stroll Magazine Street while he's "delegating", then home that PM and hopefully get in a good long ride on the horses on Sunday after church.

Congratulations! My neighbor just had a new baby Wednesday and my niece is expecting in June - babies are a poppin! This will be the first "great" grandchild on my side of the family - there are 5 on hubby's side already. My mom is the only grandparent left and she's very excited about being a great grandmother. My neice and my two kids are the only grandchildren on my side of the family as well, so this is a treat. My kids aren't even close to settling down so this will be the only baby for a while!! Spring is a wonderful time to have a baby as well! Enjoy her!

I'm going to try to get a little done in the yard tomorrow if the weather cooperates. It's still too cold to get anything done besides cleaning up leaves and stuff, but that has to be done as well. I'm making a huge new veggie bed this year so I have to get going and get as much done as I can, when I can! I might have bitten off more than I can chew with all the seeds I have going, but I guess I'll soon find out!

My girlfriend is coming over tomorrow night to fix some jewelry - I have lots of bits and bobs for jewelry making. I want to make some bread in the morning, get some done in the yard, then get back in the house to make dinner for when she comes over. I made some home made mushroom ravioli at Christmastime and I've yet to actually have any. That's what I plan on having for dinner. It's going to pour out Sunday, so I'll probably work on the scrapbook my SIL asked me to do up for my niece's baby shower. I've never worked on one before, but it's coming out nice considering I'm just fumbling my way thru! It's amazing the stuff they have for that now - I ended up buying a couple books and plan on re-doing the books I made for my own kids who are now 21 and 19! I just had photo albums stuffed with all their baby stuff. They have so many cute things now, even tho they're adults I still want to re-do them just to have for myself!

I have 4 Aries friends celebrating birthdays. Some years we have done one party for all, but this year I had wanted to split them as I felt bad about each one being short-changed. But alas, it didn't work out due to everyone's schedules. So we're doing an all-for-one dinner again on Sunday.

So tomorrow I will be shopping for gifts. I'm thinking Caswell Massey - they are nearby, having a sale and I bought some lovely gifts there earlier this year. They have lots of men's items as well.

Other than that the most exciting thing for me this week is a new ping pong racket that I'm trying out tonight. Seriously I am excited! I've been through 2 rackets so far. An expensive one I got when I started lessons. I never liked it, so I got an extremely cheapo one I've been playing with for a year.

I left it at home on Wednesday so my instructor let me use one of his, and yup - "O.M.G." it was like night and day. My shots landed far more consistently. He and I were like, "Whoah!" And he HAS been bugging me about changing out of the cheapo. I guess I've reached the level where the equipment does matter, so I got one like his ($$). I feel like I've crossed the Rubicon and now I'd better perform!
