Your weekend sounds terrific Gina. Take lots of pictures, CF get togethers are so much fun.

I'm just hanging out at home. Max will be gone Sat AM through Sunday evening.

I'm fighting tax demons today, and I have to pick up DS #2 from camp. I have to sit on the San Diego Freeway AKA 'parking lot'. Please feel my pain. I'm supposed to cook dinner for the in-laws...uh oh better go shopping....

Tomorrow DS #1 starts behind the wheel driver ed. Clear the roads! We have theater tomorrow night and gettting together with friends Sunday night, at a restaurant. Sigh. No cooking for me, just canning the plums from Denise. Awwwww.

Jessy, have fun with DS and driving. LOL My nephew just started too...his Mom won't let him leave the neighbor yet!

I'm taking off early today and cruisin' down to Oklahoma City to meet up with Cathy(Mustangs) and her DH. They are in town for a softball tournament this weekend. We are staying and playin in the Bricktown district of OKC. Dinner out tonight at a great Italian place, ball game tomorrow and taking in some more of Bricktown fun.

Flying by for a quick ~clink~. Our Summer Reading program has started, so it's been a crazy week.

Our Lucky dog had a tumor on his leg, which was benign and shouldn't have been a big deal, but they stitched and bandaged him too tightly, so he's been back at the vet with circulation problems. We get him back today.

Geez, three weeks ago it snowed at my house and this weekend it's going to hit 98F. Tomorrow is work and a search for something for the kid's birthday (besides a roof over her head, hehe). Sunday is weeding day until the heat drives me out, then it'll be Margarita day.

Give that Cathy a hug for me, David.

We're looking forward to a very hot weekend too and it has already started. It's supposed to get up to 102.2F (39C) tomorrow and Sunday so today after morning Pilates (hot & sticky session) and a dash downtown to the tax office I bought salad fixings, tomatoes, fruit and plenty of drinking water. We'll be hunkering down in the shade and staying cool I hope until Monday. There's a big desert wind from the east causing all this. I hope we're not going to start with forest fires.

Jessica I do feel your pain. Not only about the parking lot but about the driver's training. Eeek, I remember not being worried about Amanda but Ashley scared me to freakin' death!

Lee, have fun as a "weekend widow". Here that only happens during deer season. Or small game season or fishing season or turkey season or....well, you get the idea. LOL Fortunately, Elery doesn't hunt furry creatures although he may start if he ever hits another deer with his vehicle!

David, have fun and say hello to Cathy for me. don't let her get you all drunk or anything. (grin)

Katie, good luck with the lucky dog. Doesn't sound too lucky to me! I did my weeding two nights ago, I'm good for a week or so, thank goodness. We have rain, rain and more rain here.

SharonCB, stay cool, I'm going to think "no forest fires" for you.

What am I up to? I'm going tomorrow morning to pick some more strawberries, I picked all of my own and now I have to go to the local u-pick. $1.10 a pound, it's not so bad, I'll go first thing in the morning if it isn't raining.

We have 28 new baby chicks at the farm, so I need to take Makayla and Bud to see them and I got my first "harvest" of radishes, so I'm hoping for some salad greens to go with those. Lambsquarter for sure.

Sunday Amanda, David and the kids are supposed to come over for dinner and a swim in the pool. Of course, it's supposed to rain, so we'll see what happens.

Jessica, oh my, how well I recall those days with Meredith. As bad as it is now, nothing is as bad as when they actually get their license and leave that driveway all on thier own......

SharonCB, even with that weather you still live in Paradise....

Annie, nothing but rain here too...I'm fed up! I had to buy my berries at the farmers market, could not get in the fields to pick them. The berries were gorgeous though. Did 8 pint jars up Wednesday and have another bunch to do tomorrow.

This is the Canada Day long Weekend and we are up at the lake. I just got here a bit ago Clive just left Toronto so he will be stuck in the worst of the traffic...poor baby will be looking for his scotch when he gets in

We bought Kayaks as birthdays presents for each other. Had a couple of lessons this week and are really looking forward to using them this weekend!

Chris and Amity will be up tomorrow, Doug and Sara are already at their cottage...just down the lake from us. Friends join us here later tomorrow. The lake is busy and bustling! Saturday we will take the boats over to the Marina for a big Canada Day fireworks display. Always a special time.

Going to be a great weekend....except for the fact we are threatend with more rain!

Thank goodness it's Friday indeed! Both my husband and I gave up trying to work at a half day today. The air quality here in the CA Central Valley is absolutely horrible because of all the fires. Our eyes have been itchy for days and I think the bad air is really affecting us. I feel for people who have respiratory problems! The "authorities" are telling us that even healthy people should "avoid prolonged exposure to air"...nice trick if you can pull it off, I suppose...I can't quite pull it off though, seeing breathing is kind of important. After several days of this, the air inside really isn't any better than the air out.

Sharon, I hope you don't start with fires too. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Actually, I feel guilty complaining, as we are not threatened in this area, and there are many who have lost or are in danger of losing their homes.

It's 5:00 somewhere...I'm going to take a glass of wine and go out to the pool to float...I'll clink y'all from there.

Hey TGIF posters. I don't usually post on this thread because life is boring for me on Fridays...but as David mentioned we are having dinner together tonight. We have had a wonderful time in OKC and to top it off with
dinner with David is more than I can hope for.

The restaurant we are going to sounds fabulous, I will report back.

Annie, Who's getting who drunk? LOL, although David is so charming he could probable talk me into having a drink. Now Raymond is a different story.

BTW--We did win both our games today!

Sounds like a busy weekend for all. Gina's getting together with CF'ers, Cathy gets to meet up with David...it all sounds like fun.

Annie, you're getting the rain while we are starting to get dry here but we may get some tonight.

Busy, busy around here, so I'm working quite a bit. There's an Art and Craft show tomorrow, I'll be checking that out for sure.

Hey Kathy and Raymond, congratulations on the double win. How great that you are dining with David. There will be pictures, won't there? Please.

It was a long day at the biz and I missed the only gas station on my end of the metro area that has gas for $3.76. Rats! Most stations in Boulder are $3.95, but it's too far back down the expressway to go just for gas.

Tomorrow I will take DMIL out for dinner; she is supposed to be in noisy public places to see how she adjusts to her hearing aids before her tune up next Thursday. I have a Visa gift card that expires June 30, so some shopping is in the plans. Thanks for all the good wishes for my free weekend. I'm also going to make a little strawberry jam and need to get some help so I'll be posting my question separately soon.

Rachelellen, I really sympathize with you and everyone else in Smokeland. I know how awful it is, both in Colorado, and from a number of trips to CA when there have been big fires. It is certainly no exaggeration that the smoke can reach to Las Vegas - I know that one from driving and coughing the whole way. I've wondered if any kind of air cleaner can really be of much help in a home - even just in a bedroom.

Happy long weekend to everyone celebrating Canada Day, and especially to Sara and Doug and Sharon and Clive who have so much to celebrate.
