Elery and I are going out tomorrow for our first anniversary, I'm not sure where.

Sunday is Mother's Day so I'm going to a BBQ at Amanda's, my Mother is also coming so there will be 4 generations of women in our family there. After that Ashley is taking me to see an Elvis impersonator, I'm not quite sure why she thought THAT was a good idea, LOL, sitting in a bar on a Sunday night when I have to work on Monday and watching some guy act foolish (because they can never actually sing worth a hoot, LOL).

Anyway, a clink with my Irish Breakfast Tea and Happy Mother's Day to everyone, whether you are a mother or whether you have one!

Linda, Erin's graduation makes a lovely Mother's Day. You must be so pleased.

DS and his finance both graduate Saturday (BAs in Music). Think they will need supplementary financial support? hehe We are celebrating Mother's Day and graduation with a Frito Salad/Hay Stacks carry in after the ceremony.

Linda, congratulations on the "pre-exam"! I got my Property/Casualty License in CO & remember stressing over the tests. Relax...you'll do great! Congrats to Erin, as well! What a wonderful Mother's Day present...can't do better than watching a child graduate! Enjoy the perennial sale.

Annie, WOW! Your first anniversary already...I'm going to go back & look at the pixs again. It was a wonderful wedding & Annie, I'm so glad your Dad lived to see the smile on your face that day. Enjoy the Elvis concert. What a hoot. I think it's a fun present!

Judy, another graduation! Congratulations to both your son & his finance. My DDIL also has her degree in music. She's a very cultured SAHM...rofl. Actually, DDIL's done something fun with her degree (if not profitable!)...she teaches a community music class to pre-schoolers. She's a pianist but since the third child was born she's not playing as frequently. :( I love listening to her play.

We're going on our annual Mother's Day excursion to Newbury Perennials followed by lunch in Newburyport tomorrow. This will be our 9th year. This will be my first Mother's Day without any of the kids coming for a visit. Jobs have scattered our little family.

BUT, our oldest daughter's DH is a diver on the oil rigs in the Gulf. They live in Houston & he ships out of LA. He's not been getting as much work & has just accepted an assignment in Norfolk for the next four months. After that, it seems likely he'll be offered a permanent job diving either in Norfolk or in Boston. We're trying not to get too excited but it sure would be great having them closer!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers. And, for Heaven's Sake, let's hope the rain finally stops! My white garden fence has turned almost totally green this week...enough already!

Our plans are to take my mil to lunch tomorrow. She'll probably pick Chilis or Duffy's she loves those places. I guess if we were doing dinner she'd pick Outback or Carrabas. But where ever, I'm sure the food will be yummy.

Then on Sunday my family is taking me to a Mothers Day Brunch. I love that!!!!

Tonight? Not sure what we'll do for dinner, I'm still doing the food combining so I'll have a grilled chicken or grilled fish and a salad tonight. But not Sunday! woo hoo!

Wasn't it just Friday a couple days ago? Heh-heh.

Ping pong tonight - no lesson, just playing. Tomorrow going to DB's house overnight to celebrate his BDay. Odo won't be happy - they have a huge brown (excuse me, chocolate, ahem) lab - she's simply huge. Odo no likey. She's also an aggressive resource-guarder and my DB amd DSIL don't know how to train her out of that.

Mother's Day is always hard for me because, even though I'm lucky that my mom is still here, she and I don't get along all that well (and never did). And she is terrible with gifts. I don't send anything anymore. (Negative and rude feedback worked.) So just a short call.

Annie, Happy Anniversary to you and Elery. It really doesn't seem like a year. (That reminds me I never wrote and told you where I found the wedding card I thought was mailed to you...ack!)

Judy, congratulations to the kids. Mine graduated a year and a half ago and she thinks she still needs financial support.

Enjoy your Mother's Day excursion. Mine may not be home either. She's only a couple of hours away, but she's visiting an almost-boyfriend. It wouldn't surprise me to get a rain check for the dinner she said she'd make.

Today I spent the morning pulling bedding plants for our annual plant sale. I got a huge, gorgeous fuchsia and a cherry tomato. No annuals for me....my flower beds are torn up and there's heavy equipment in the yard.

Tomorrow is work and if the wind doesn't kick up, some brush burning.

Sunday they're going to start ripping an tearing on my lawn, I think. I am happy to stay home and do clean-up. Liana is supposed to be making dinner, but she may be having too much fun to come home.

Clinking to you all from David's in Tulsa! You would not believe the feast he is laying out for us, incredible amounts of great nibblies to nosh on after a BBQ feast at lunch.

Some of his family and friends are coming to join us for the evening. Should be fun.

Gina & Katiec, that mom gets around. She was mine, too. She died 27 years ago before I had a child. It sounds terrible to people who don't understand what it is like to live with a mom like that, but I'm glad she didn't have the chance to hurt my son.

Triciae, your DDIL sounds like a lovely person. Her kids are fortunate to learn about music at a young age. I hear you about practicing. DS is a classical guitarist. I miss listening him.

Shaun, enjoy going out. I am a little envious.
