The parts of the trial I see leave me having to close my mouth with my hand. I feel for her parents for some reason. I don't think I've ever witnessed a bigger liar.

I feel sad for her parents. Whether she killed that child or not, it's obvious she has some mental problems.

Haven't followed it in depth, but have seen much coverage particularly this week. I can't stand to look at the girl. Seems that the parents have now gone from trying to protect/save their daughter, to testifying against her. Also, that turn of events seems to come on the heels of testimony that her dad & brother sexually abused her as a child? What is going on with that?

Without knowing all of the facts, I do think that this girl should be put away for a very long time. It's too bad they can't sentence her to a tubal ligation. At the very least she is a pathological liar who partied for a month while her daughter was missing/deceased. How sick is that?

Does anyone here know whether the State of Florida has dealth penalty punishment? If so, is this a dealth penalty case?

In a word, sad.

Her parents had no choice - they had to testify in court and they had to tell the truth. The police have audio tapes, video tapes, and witness accounts of what they have said, such as her mother saying the car smelled like death.

It is very sad. Her parents must have known that she was/is a pathological liar. But I guess there is no way they could have imagined that she would go beyond that to killing her daughter.

It will be interesting to see how long the jury deliberates before finding her guilty. My guess is that she will be spared the death penalty one way or the other - maybe a plea agreement before it's all over.

I know the evidence against her is strong and she is a really troubled woman but I hate when everyone declares people guilty before they've had their full day in court. The media turns it into a complete mess and you never really know if some of these people really got fair trials or not as a result.

I was listening to the updates about Amanda Knox on the news and she's a perfect example of this. DNA even proves she was not involved and yet the Italian government has railroaded her through the media.

I realize there is a lot of difference between the two cases, but I'm just feel that that old saying innocent before proven guilty is important.

I agree about the Amanda Knox case, I firmly believe she's not guilty at all. But, for Casey, I feel she had a large part in this. She could have done it accidentally yet she did research on how to make choloraform so that's a big factor. They really don't have one solid piece of evidence against her.
If indeed she was a victim of sexual abuse then that would account for her flat affect as the victim separates from what is going on and that pattern continues throughout life. She's a very seriously psychotic personality and, if that is true, then she was born with out the ability to feel love and concern for others, she would just mimic and manipulate which seems to be the case. It's an incredibly sad story for Caylee's life to end so soon. I'll be watching closely.

Just watched the ABC World News' update on this case. The anchor commented on how the Anthony's support of their daughter has waned significantly since Casey's accusation of molestation at the hands of her father and brother. Seems as tho Casey is willing to put her parents/family through whatever hell she deems necessary in her own twisted mind in order to avoid prosecution.

Did I hear correctly that she wanted her parents to use the reward money to post her bail? What a sick, sick, sick girl. Her daughter was still missing at that point and all she wanted was to be set free. Speaks volumes of her character or lack thereof IMHO.

I feel terrible for her parents. They seem to have made a very nice home for their unwed daughter and grandchild. How awful it must be for them, especially Mrs. Anthony. IRC, she originally placed the call to the police about the vehicle having been missing, and the subsequent "odor" in the car being similar to that of a dead body. From what I've seen, I believe Mrs. Anthony is/was a nurse?

Sadly, the tapes of the parents visiting their daughter in jail were played. That girl was treating her parents terribly from the moment she was arrested. I can only imagine that this was not new behavior.

With regard to the death penalty, it was reported that unless/until the prosecution can prove that Casey in fact murdered little Kaylee, she will not be subject to the death penalty. I do think it would be a shame if the prosecution offers Casey a plea. Especially if the plea is in exchange for a confession or details of what happened to her daughter. At this point I don't think it matters, the child is gone. As far as I can tell, Casey will say/do anything, notwithstanding whether her testimony is truthful. Kaylee's mother definitely played some role in at the very least, the coverup as to the where, when and how's of her young daughter's demise.

The trial is taking place in this area so we do hear a lot about it on a regular basis.

There are many things about this case that I find strange.
Not the least is the fact that the grandparents didn't find it strange that the little girl was supposedly living with the mom at a friend's apartment and yet she didn't seem to have clothes, crib, etc....things a 2 yr old would need on a daily basis.
And the story that the child was at a Theme park with a sitter unknown to them, for how long?, didn't raise flags with them?

It is hard to comprehend the relationship between Casey Anthony and her parents. From what I have read and seen on TV, her parents had lots of questions for Casey and confronted her about what she was doing and where her daughter was. Her brother confronted her as well.

But they would have had to toe a careful line. Casey was the child's sole parent and had control over how much they saw Caylee. The only way they could have forced her to make Caylee appear would have been to involve the authorities by claiming child endangerment.

However, looking back with 20/20 hindsight, you would think that George Anthony, a former police officer, would have been out doing surveillance on Casey.

I'm over board a bit on the trial. Follow three blogs, one from a person attending. My take is she didn't kill her intentionally, but the norm for Casey is never taking responsibility.

I don't believe Casey is very bright in the scheme of life. She found lies to be perfect for getting through anything.

And her attorney is almost as dumb as she is with the handling of all. They are a perfect match. Have read that their story about dad and brother, along with the pool incedent could require Casey to take the stand. This I would really like to see. Surely any attorney would know this. My personal take is he is in this for the same attention Casey is.

All in all, this story is akin to tell one lie and have to find another to cover up...on and on she goes. How she keeps them all together is beyond me.

I too feel empathy for her parents. She actually threw them under the bus on opening statements. They have had to face many truths about Casey and it must be ongoing heartache. Especially the loss of Caley.

I am saddened by all lost children. My mind can't fathom why their young lives are taken. Does anyone know what happened regarding the little girl taken from the trailer in FL? The young girlfriend being the only one there at the time.

The Defense totally blew it when they claimed Caylee drowned and Casey & her dad covered it up.

Drowning is an accident, and the first reaction that 99% of the population would do is call 911. Who in the world would think of hiding the body instead of hoping to bring life back to it from a Paramedic? Especially George the ex-Cop!

Boy, I could never falsely accuse my dad and brother of such atrocities. I'd rather die on a stake before that!

Acquitted! I have to say, I'm shocked!

I can't imagine why that jury aquitted her on murder 1, but found her guilty of lying to law enforcement. Really, isn't the lying to law enforcement a definite indication of Casey being responsible. If she lied, why was she doing so? For the life of me, I can't wrap my brain against the fact that she was aquitted. I expected it because of the length of deliberations. The jury didn't have much time to really work on reviewing all of the evidence introduced at trial.

Doesn't it seem like the longer the trial the more likely the defendent will end up aquitted? With all that talking the jury is going to doubt something. They didn't deliberate long at all. The public may see her as guilty just like OJ yet they'll reward her by buying books, magazines, watching movies (that she sells the rights to), which will net her a fortune.

They didn't even find her guilty of manslaughter! But she's guilty of supplying false information. How dense can these jury members be. Should be very interesting to hear what individual jurors have to say in their interviews.

That's what I don't get. No matter their opinion of the death penalty surely not every one of those jurors believed she was innocent.

I wouldn't be surprised if most of the jurors believed that she was guilty. The problem is they couldn't make 1+1=3. They have to go on the facts and not their emotion. It sounds as if the evidence was all mostly circumstantial.
