A BIG Thank you to Mustangs- Cathy

Thanks to you and the link you posted I now have the hand held FoodSaver vac gizmo. It arrived last night and I was a crazed women packing up bread crumbs, spices, flour and sugars for the panty and produce and some homemade condiments for the fridge. I am on the hunt for the canning jar adapter for freezer items now. I know it is somewhere in the house. I even pulled out the labeler for some of the jars. Dad thinks I have lost my mind :)

Thank you Oh Great Gadget Queen!

Yea! I am so glad that you like it. I thought it was my excessive compulsive tendencies causing me to spend so much time with this project. I was at it again today.

Today I did coconut flakes and organic cane sugar. I can't wait to use Grainlady's suggestion of jarring sterling silver. I was going to spend some bucks on silver storage cloths.

Link please ;-)

It sounds like a blast! LOL! I'm thinking alot about vacing the silver I rarely use.

Now that I have a clean pantry and no mouse in the house I can get busy packing the pantry.

Thanks for posting this May. CC, Yes as Terri says 1 to 1. CdL, I am coffee challenged as Peppi, my coffee mentor will tell you. I make instant as I don't buy or make real coffee. I make a tray of instant coffee ice cubes which equals one cup. You are correct in stating that the cream is the liquid necessary to make the smoothie blend. On a road trip last week I stopped at McDonald's for one of the Frappes for breakfast, it was almost like my mocha smoothie but not as rich but still good. Here is my recipe which includes the recipe for making a batch of dry ingredients that I keep on hand. MOCHA SMOOTHIE Ingredients for Batch of Dry Mix: 1 Â 17.4 oz can Godiva Dark Chocolate Truffle Cocoa Mix 1 cup Unsweetened Dark Cocoa 4 cups Splenda-or to your liking Mix dry ingredients very well. Store in airtight canister. Individual Serving: 8 tbls of dry mix Pinch of salt 8 tbls fat free half & half 1 tray coffee ice cubes (I pre-crush in a plastic bag) Add half & half, salt, and dry mix to blender. Blend until smooth. Add coffee ice 1/3 at a time until smoothie texture. Total calories=248 Bottom line-this is how I drink a cup of coffee!

Thanks all for the birthday wishes. DH did come through--last night he was on the field coaching and I was shivering (yup, it got down to 64 degrees last night). He came to the fence and said "here, take my jacket, happy birthday".

Thanks again friends. As for the dinner, it wasn't good. It was a super large Asian buffet! The food on the hot bar did not taste fresh and was not hot. A lot of the chicken items were chewy, like they had been sitting there too long. The tempura was cold and rubbery. The sushi bar was huge but some of the Edomae-sushi was scary. The only saving item was the Peking Duck; I saw it as it came out of the kitchen. It was better than most and reminded me of what I had at the Peking Duck House in NY.

Thank you for making my day a memorable one with your birthday wishes! Yes, we are having a great time and our DH's have been talking non-stop! The weather is spectacular and the beach is more beautiful than I have seen in some time. The shells are plentiful. Thank you again, Cathy

Hmmmm. Something handheld that sucks. Works for me! One for the kitchen, one for the......bedside toolbox. Yeah.

Karen, As I mentioned before, my FS canisters crack so that necessitated trying the canning jars. It's one of the few appliances that I keep on the counter. Mine is in black, which I like because it blends in with the dark granite and isn't glaring. I don't see black as an option anymore.

Just to be sure you know- you will have to order the regular and the wide mouth jar sealers.

Now, children. I would say go to your rooms...but that might not be a good idea.
