A BIG Thank you to Mustangs- Cathy

Thanks to you and the link you posted I now have the hand held FoodSaver vac gizmo. It arrived last night and I was a crazed women packing up bread crumbs, spices, flour and sugars for the panty and produce and some homemade condiments for the fridge. I am on the hunt for the canning jar adapter for freezer items now. I know it is somewhere in the house. I even pulled out the labeler for some of the jars. Dad thinks I have lost my mind :)

Yea! I am so glad that you like it. I thought it was my excessive compulsive tendencies causing me to spend so much time with this project. I was at it again today.

Today I did coconut flakes and organic cane sugar. I can't wait to use Grainlady's suggestion of jarring sterling silver. I was going to spend some bucks on silver storage cloths.

It sounds like a blast! LOL! I'm thinking alot about vacing the silver I rarely use.

Now that I have a clean pantry and no mouse in the house I can get busy packing the pantry.

Cathy, you are so fortunate because you get those gorgeous Great Spangled Frits up where you live. We are too far south of their range. They see them in the NE part of our state, but not down this far. Linda, I've never had them on my P. incarnata. I've seen them flying in my yard, but never found any cats. It could have been I just missed them in the Gulf Frit deluge, though, too. I need to find another P. incarnata, but Precure hadn't gotten any of them in yet, and didn't know if they would. I imagine I can find one at TLC or possibly Horns or Satterlee's, but they're so darned expensive! These Blue Violets sure did attract them. Today I saw a HUMONGOUS Question Mark in the front yard. Had to be a female. Hope she left some eggs on the Hops in the front yard. I already have some in the back yard. Also saw a Red Admiral as well. I keep checking my False Nettle......... I'm almost convinced I should try it in pots. They are supposed to be hardy, but maybe my drainage wasn't good enough or something. Who knows. I've got to get my containers cleaned out, but I've been so busy trying to plant things. Susan

Hello all, I was doing a google search for "Mrs. Cordrey's Spatter Shield" and found your posts. To answer some of your questions regarding this post I can tell you my father's company "Robot" manufactured the spatter shields for Mrs. Cordrey. In fact my mother still uses one! Yes they were well made!! My father, a retired engineer was/is a perfectionist! I would love to get a hold of one of these wonderful spatter shields myself...can't find anything on the market that compares! Hope this answers some of your questions!

Go for it!!! Your DH story reminded me of something happened yesterday. While I was at the outlet stores, I ran into a lady who mentioned that her husband gave her a budget limit to spend. I smiled and replied to her that's one of the benefit of being single. I budget my money so that once in awhile, I can still get something nice on sale for myself and... LOL... it's usually a kitchen gadget =o) Btw, if you get to go to Le Creuset outlet, you need to get one of these. That is if you don't have one already. They used these to display the price sale tags. Another lady customer and I looked at each others and right away thought about being a recipe card holder. I'm sure that's what it is but we didn't know they were selling them; so, we asked. It's so cute, just had to bring one home.

Karen, As I mentioned before, my FS canisters crack so that necessitated trying the canning jars. It's one of the few appliances that I keep on the counter. Mine is in black, which I like because it blends in with the dark granite and isn't glaring. I don't see black as an option anymore.

Just to be sure you know- you will have to order the regular and the wide mouth jar sealers.
