Do any of you have experience with the mini-cheesecake pan?

I'm choosing to cut way back on desserts around here, but don't want to cut them out entirely. (Depravation will not inspire desperation, IYKWIM; I believe in moderation, and these are very moderate!) I've acquired two of these mini-cheesecake pans, and am wondering how well regular cupcakes would work in these (since I've never used them before). Do I need a crust, since the bottom is removable? I'm wondering about baking times as well. Can anyone help me?
