French Picnic, nibbles, appys

I want to plan a french inspired light dinner for three.

It will be dinner post-surgery for my mom, plus my daughter and I.

So far I'm thinking:

Dinner:

Salmon spread on crostini

Goat cheese/fig jam on crostini

Brie/roasted red pepper palmiers

Pickled asparagus

Marinated mushrooms

Garlic stuffed green olives

Red grapes

Cantaloupe

Dessert:

Strawberries and dark chocolate

ChocoVine wine (Anybody tried this?? it's supposed to be "the taste of dutch chocolate and fine red wine" according to the label. Looks like hot cocoa in the bottle.).

Other ideas/suggestions? Things to omit?

I want it to be easy and quick to prepare since my primary focus will be on getting mom settled and comfortable.

The pickled/marinated stuff is jarred. Fruit is easy and the salmon spread can be made up the day before. I think just toasting the crostini and making the palmiers is all the prep I'd need to do same day.

Her surgery is at 11am, full anesthesia so I don't know how long we'll be at the hospital or what her appetite will be like later. DD & I should have full appetites!!

I need enough, but too much.

Leftover fruit can be used the next day with breakfast omeletes or quiche.

TIA,

Deanna
