Layout: Small home office
Comments (1)I would put the desk in the top right corner and the sofa along the wall to your right when you walk into the room. The chair could go in the top left corner by the window as long as you still have access to the closet (sliding doors?). You could wait until you have those pieces in the room before you decide on the small table. You could strategically place a mirror or two to help reflect light and the outdoors into the corner where you'll be working....See MoreHelp design Home Office in small windowless attic!!

Comments (10)Hi - wanted to give an update. I cut out sheet rock panels and placed them on the door back and then covered those with a product called Noico which is similar to mass loaded vinyl. That along with removing the air return grate and the vent grates has helped a lot. I was able to create a tight seal with the filter higher up inside the rerturn duct but am working on a more permanent solution. But using a noise meter, I have been able to reduce things about 10db. Question, the air handler’s cool is in good shape. The model of the unit is a Rudd ubhc-14j06sfe. My AC person once lowered the speed of the blower and that certainly helped but there are only two speeds. Could I get a new motor that potentially would be a lot quieter and replace the existing one? It seems like motors are relatively inexpensive versus the cost of doing major ductwork / getting a new system. Any thoughts? Thanks!...See MoreHow to declutter small bedroom that also needs to be a home office?
Comments (12)The hamper can be moved. So, I don’t want to fixate in that one aspect. I think the main issue is the workspace. I want to replace those 2 separate pieces with something that serves the same purpose with a smaller footprint and replace that folding chair with a proper ergonomic office chair. The slider opens from the right. The control is on the left just so it’s more convenient to open and close while sitting on the bed. The actual slider glass isn’t opened as closed nearly as often as the sliding panels. The Windows desktop is required because there is a need to run multiple Windows virtual machines for training purposes. I can replace that tower with a Windows PC similar in size into a Mac Mini and mount it behind the TV if needed, but I still need a keyboard/mouse tray that’s at a lower height than the main desk surface. No need to access the PC remotely and have to walk to another area to turn it on and off if it can just be hidden behind a flat screen TV in arm’s reach of where you would be sitting....See Moreathensmomof3
