OK - Just wanted to update - Thanks to the service manual I have taken the Dish Drawer Completely apart. I have discovered 2 things. 1. There is a bit of a lid leak at the rear of the drawer - there is quite a bit of soap deposits on the bottom inside etc.. and especially around the vent intake. However no corrosion on any wires or contacts at all. Most of the leak looks to be small drips that over time look bad but are benign. 2. The lid seal and drawer top needed cleaning - this should help the leaking as there was quite a bit of calcium/lime/soap build up - I have never had a flood sensor error. 3. The Main Circuit Board, Motor, & Flood Sensor PCB all are perfectly clean and look great with no corrosion...I did remove all connectors to inspect and re-attach. 4. With the drawer open more than normal - due the the drawer slide locks being detached - I would get random power resets. The main power wires and the drain and fill lines are pulled tighter by doing this, but not overly so. I guess one of the connectors could have been intermittent, and/or the power wires are fatigued and are intermittent - I will keep an eye on this - the wires could be fatigued due to #5 below. 5. The white plastic cable protector rod that attaches as "link clips" holding the main wiring and the drain and fill lines was broken in the middle - so the wires might be kinking at that point and are fatiguing - I will go right back to that area if it continues to have power problems. I might just need to splice some more wire in. Overall it isn't too bad. The only parts that appear troubled are the lid rubber seal, and the entire "link clip" plastic piece. Thought I would update you dadoes - thanks for the manual - and if you have any thoughts please forward them onto me.

A small blower (as you probably know) runs during the dry period to pull room air through the DD and exhaust the residual heat/moisture. The vent is at front/center beneath the DD. Depending on where/how your storage drawer is positioned in relation to your DD's exhaust, you're probably having some warm/humid air seep into the drawer. Leaving the storage drawer ajar as you've been doing allows it to dissipate better. Doubtful there's anything wrong with your DD. Probably the only workaround is to cancel the DD cycle when the drying phase starts and pull it fully open for flash-drying instead of the normal airflow drying. Note that if you do that, the DD's pump will likely run in drain mode for a minute or so when the DD is next closed.

Hi there Dadoe, I’m back again for your wisdom, I still have the Iwl16 machine and it’s been working great since you last helped me out, the drain pump went out on it in February 2019 and I replaced it, however now whenever it runs out of water but the machine still has it engaged it’s making a screaching sound that’s pretty noticeable even with the laundry room doors closed. Pump sounds fine as long as it actually has water to pump out or recirculate...once it gets to the rinse and spin phases where the pump is engaged but not having much water to pump is where the problem comes in...I have tried another brand new pump and it’s actually worse than the one I installed a year ago, I even tried a new motor controller board only to have the same issue. Am I missing something or are they just really making crappy quality pumps now?? The machine works fine, just noisy now and it’s definitely the drain pump but I’m not gonna keep purchasing drain pumps til I get a good one...any advice would be appreciated

Ron Natalie, I am sorry you had such a bad experience with your dish drawers. I hope you found something you like better. I have had a very different experience with them. I had my previous ones that I replaced for nearly 15 years and never had a service call on them. I only replaced them because they were white and I got new stainless steel appliances when I did some renovations to my kitchen. Otherwise I would have kept them. The new one is working great and the water softener feature is also great as it eliminates any spotting from slightly hard water. My previous ones did not have that feature. I like the dish drawers for many reasons but just to name a few: I live alone and can run the smaller loads without it seeming wasteful, I have a bad back and don't have to bend over to load and unload, I can alternate using them and keep clean dishes in the one I am not using (in a small kitchen this allows a little extra storage). Having had no need to call upon them, I have not had any experience with FP service. Only time is recently, the toe kick was left out of my new one when it was shipped and I contacted FP and I had it here in 2 days so they were very responsive. I do think, however, that the place where I bought them this time is not that familiar with them and that is why I am having trouble getting this sensor thing installed properly. They did the install and also do service so they are the ones trying to get the sensor working. I realize this is the first time the knock to pause sensor feature has been used on the integrated panel model. It may turn out to be a design flaw, but hopefully I will have the same experience with this set of dish drawers that I had with my previous one. Anyone with experience with the knock to pause sensors, I would love to hear from you.
