6 week check and surgery on Tuesday

Well I took Hudson in for our 6 week check. He has grown an inch and gained 2 and a half pounds in 6 weeks and is looking good. The only problem is that he has the cold that we are all passing around, I have to give him nebulizer treatments 2 times a day as well as doing the same for Hayden who started all this sickness. He is just one giant bugger, that spreads the joy where ever he goes lol. Everything went good for my 6 week check and got the aokay for s-e-x and a promise that she tied my tubes and double knotted them this time. I told her laughingly that I would think about s-e-x in a couple of years when I don't have 4 little ones under the age of 5 and no energy or sex drive. I go in on Tuesday and have my gall bladder out they hope that they can get it out laproscopically and not have to make a big incision. But even with the small incisions will have some recupperating to do. My mom and mil are coming up to help. Not looking foreward to this but would rather get it taken care of now before it is a big problem, plus we met our deductible:)

So think of me and say a prayer for me on Tuesday, will be hard having Hudson in the hospital with me, but with breast feeding I don't have many options.

Praying that all goes well....but from what I know of people who have had that done, the recuperation is easy...if they can do it laproscopically.
One friend who is about 40 years oklder than you had it done about 5 years ago...she was home in a few hours, slept the rest of the day and most of the next....but was eating a few normal things by 3 days later and out and about in a week....and she is very very large....300 pounds if she's an ounce so that makes everything more difficult.
You'll be more than fine!! and we're looking for more pics of those munchkins!

I've been thinking of you Stacie, since my mom goes in for the same surgery in two weeks.
Hope all goes well, although I'm very sure it will, and you will hopefully feel much better health-wise soon!
Hang in there! Home stretch hopefully for the hospital portion of your life!!

Sorry, I got home and lets just say I was a little bit out of it. I definately couldn't be an alcoholic or drug addict, I feel so out of it. Let me tell you that it is worse than a c-section, and at least that way you get to take a baby home. I am really sore all over my abdomen and it is nicely bruised. When I went in firt he said I would have no restrictions, little pain and could do what I wanted Baloney, no lifting for 3 days, 3 more days of pumping and no driving. My mom has the younger 3 and my MIL has Rhiannon and they are enjoying time with Grandma and Grandpa. Dan has been big help and watches over me to make sre I don't do so much. I could post some pics if anoyone wants to see. The incissions , I was surprised being laprascopic surgery the ammoun of holes, and the sizes and all the bruising. Other than sitting still it hurts anyway I move. Thank you for all the thoughts, sufloers and prayers, It is going to be some time before I et to feeling better. Just srng my ptty party Stacie

Thanks Ladies! Am rushed for time but wanted to say that DH has ordered the cast cover that Outsideplaying and Cat Mom suggested. It should get here on Friday. Thank you for that one, Ladies!! Have made and frozen 4 dinners so far: Shepherd's Pie, Spaghetti and my homemade meatballs, Meatball Stroganoff and (today) my homemade Chicken Noodle Soup. Thanks to Joanie for reminding me to think about comfort foods. I made my own personal comfort food: my homemade Chicken Noodle Soup this afternoon! Thanks to Jshore's suggestion, I'm making sure that everything is pre-cut into small pieces as I won't be able to cut things for at least the first week. I had NOT even thought of that before she suggested it! I have my list (thanks to you all) of things to do and to buy in the next 4 days and am checking them off one by one. I feel so, so much more prepared because of you all. I am usually a super-organized person, but have found that in stressful times like this, I do need a little help from my friends. Thank you for that! I'm off to go iron 3 or 4 shirts for DH. By Sunday, I'll have a at least a week's worth ironed and ready for him. Lynn

Whoo Hoo!! Ran the 10k Cotton Row Run yesterday and finished with a decent time (for me anyway)! And I feel good today so that is even better. No soreness, which I attribute not only to good training, but also to the stretches I've been doing before and especially after the running. My DD and DGD ran the 5k and I'm so proud of them! DGD killed it and was 10th in her age group out of 52 in that group. She is 14 and ran it in just over 29 minutes which I thought was really great for her first 5k. My time for the 10k was 78 minutes which isn't a barn-burner by any means, but keep in mind it was very, very hot, sunny, and humid, even at 7 am when we started. The first half of this course is a gradual uphill climb, with a quarter mile hill just before the 3 mile point that is so unbelievable that almost everyone walks up it. Then the last 2.8 miles or so is mostly downhill which is a relief but still by then you're zapped. The 5k course isn't so bad. Now on to the next great challenge, which is to keep running in our summer heat and humidity. Most of the races around here in the summer are 5k races until September. Too hot and dangerous. Our running group has a get-together this evening at a local watering hole...should be fun and I've met some great new friends and running buddies I hope to see again on the trails. There is also a group that runs trail runs on Tuesdays, 1-3 miles, from now thru October, so that is a good thing to do. Anele, so glad you are noticing progress. Normally you'll notice some change in 2 weeks and big changes in 4 weeks, so am really happy for you that you've stuck to your plan. Hope you have a wonderful vacation and can work in some exercise, even in 10-15 minutes here and there per day, to keep it going. I've read that those intervals do just as much good as long workouts. Oh yes, forgot to mention...I treated myself to a day off today and had a massage. Sometimes you just have to do things for yourself as I'm sure you've all figured out. We had the family over for dinner last night and celebrated DH's birthday too. So it was good to have another day to recuperate after a busy weekend!

Outside, you've been doing great! I think it's so neat that you had your goal for your run, stuck to it, made it a family event, and just keep going, going, going! Joanie, I understand! Strangely, I had it in my mind (for years) that exercise for the sake of exercise was indulgent. My mom always thought exercise should be natural, but we don't (I don't) live natural lives! I think of my dad, who was thin, but died from (untreated) heart disease at 60. I think of my mom, who, aside from walking, has not done weight-bearing exercise. She is thin and eats great, but I am scared if she falls. It would be life-changing if she broke a bone. I now realize that an investment like this in myself is for OTHERS, too-- for my husband, my kids, etc. I am really getting more and more concerned for my husband. He is thin, but his eating habits are awful and he does not exercise. He has signs of cholesterol issues in his EYES and he is only 41. It really has so little to do with appearance. This is about not being dependent on others, and just taking care of what we have to the best of our abilities. If you don't take care of you, how will you be there for your DH? I think it is fantastic that you have taken those first steps to invest in your future and am so glad you are here!!! Amj, that warms my heart! Yay!!! Daisy, I used to be a teacher. Big hugs to you. I need to go back to work eventually, but the thought of being a teacher now is terrifying. I loved it when I did it . . .it consumed me! Things are constantly changing, and sadly, not for the better. (Though I hope the tide will change.) I am thrilled that you are here and have begun! I find yoga to be fantastic for my brain and feel so good physically while I do it. If you are interested, I will share the DVD I got for beginners. Beth, woo hoo! I remember you saying that about the book. How is Norman? Are you going to stop for a bit with him and then go back as needed? Have fun at the gym! Annie, that is all so amazing. How the heck did you reduce cellulite?? What do you think did it? I have started the plank challenge, too, though I am not up to 90 by any means. I very much agree that weight changing isn't the point. I think the best measure is the way clothes fit . . .the way you feel in them, and out of them! And yes, EXACTLY!!! Time will pass whether or not we do anything, so what will we choose? So, what should we do after this? I initially did 6 weeks because 8 seemed too long and 4 too short. A part II for 6 weeks or ???

Honestly Stacie, I don't know how you do it and keep laughing. You are too funny. And now a gall bladder removal? Whoa.

You're still nursing Hudson? That will be very tricky, even if you have it done laproscopically. It still takes some time to recover.

Good luck to you. I hope you have tissues with lotion!

I am still hanging in there, and as far as I am concerned if I don't laugh about all my drama I would be crying. I will be glad to have the gallbladder surgery over with, it has been on my mind and the sooner we do it the better. Just hope I get over this sinus infection and start to feel at least some what normal by Tuesday. I just hope to make it through the holidays, this was the first week without any help and with all of us sick it was a long week, with everyone sharing their colds with each other. I want to go out and have some fun shopping tomorrow, but with my head feeling like it could explode and being exhausted, I am afraid that I would be worse off if I go instead of staying at home, especially since it is a hour drive one way to go shopping.
