windows updates stalled. How do I...

I have w/XP on an acer PC, and am still pretty new to using it.

I had a power failure while it was downloading the latest updates. When I could restart, the downloading continued by itself. I thought it was done and turned off the PC, but when I turned it on the next time, the little shield says "downloading updates 92%"

It's been at 92% for a long time... I'm on dial-up so it does take a while, but doesn't seem like it should take this long.

Is there anyway to tell if it's really downloading? And if it is stalled, how do I get it started again?

if you had not set sp3 not to download it is probably sp3 and it is pretty large plus this last batch of updates there were between 12-17 of them for some people so no it could really be taking a while but shutting it down 2 times may have corrupted the download.

Was there greenboard over the studs before he installed the cement board?Either way he needed to tape seams and should have used thinset.But if there wasnt even greenboard behind there you will have problems from the get go.I would rip it out regardless.

Usally the top is left open. But if light is a issue, you can have a cellular shade made to fit into the opening. Cellular shades work out well on this type of window. You can get either one to cover both windows for a clean look, and better light control. Or 2 so you can have one up and one down if you want.

I'm amazed you've achieved such a "complete" and organized look by utilizing what was pretty much "extra stuff!" Great job ... My fiddly little observation is about the bird cage. In the photograph, it looks almost like it's "hiding" behind the end table, tucked towards the rear as it is. It makes it look like an afterthought, and it's too lovely for that! How does it look if you pull it forward so it's pretty much next to the table?
