Shaddy it is never a pain for anyone here to give another person an answer if they know the answer. That is how we all learn, there are no stupid questions when it comes to computers. Regarding cleaning the computer I no longer use the Disk cleanup feature that comes with the computer, I use Ccleaner, linked below. This I run very erratically, every 2 or 3 months and sometimes longer and leave it at the default settings. It works great for me. After that if I am going to leave the computer I will set it to defrag. Regarding scandisk I never use that at all. On very rare occasions I will run checkdisk. To do so click Start click Run type 'chkdsk' without the quotes You will see a window saying something that it will run when you next boot up your computer, agree with that and you are set. you need to choose the IE flash player to download with IE and you need to choose the firefox version and download it with firefox if you use those browsers, You must get the proper version and use that browser to download and install. when you go to that link Zep provided called reinstall flash you will see which browser it is for if it is not the rigth one then you see that link that says Different operating system or browser? click that and it will offer you the links to the other options you could run the Secunia OSI and it will tell you what needs updating nad also provide the link directly to it. for any of these make sure any extras are unchecked including on the download page any thing McAfee or Norton related. For Scandisk do this - Click Start click My computer click on C:\ to highlight it click File at the top of the screen Click Properties in the drop down menu click Tools tab in the 'Error checking choice click 'Check now' Plcae a check mark against either of the 2 options if you wish - I would click to "Automatically fix errors" click Start Once that has completed return to the same place and click to Defrag the drive. Do not be afraid to defrag your E:\ drive Sugar, if it is the larger and perhaps busier then maybe it is more important to defrag that than the C:\ drive. Do it when you are leaving to prepare a meal or any other time you will be away from the computer.

Unless I'm mistaken .. that is where the pc stores the 'System Restore' data. If you 'disable' the system restore software, you Might be able to defrag those folders BUT .. If I were you .. I'd just leave them alone!
