I'm not saying I could do it, but I'd likely try. For instance, this rough beginning using "sed" works on the bbcode you posted above. It's missing a bunch of tags, even the regular [URL] one, but maybe it wouldn't be that difficult to extend. Yes it does, thanks. The only reason why I want to clone it is, firstly, so I can be assured I can access my documents and the programs and downloads I want to keep, I'm fairly fastidious about keeping copies so I should be able to reinstall all the stuff I want to keep, the other reason being I thought I might be able to get around the need for the NT disk, if the installer sees a Win 2k installation on the disk, but I really want to format the new drive and start from scratch, ideally. I would suspect my DVD+-r drive wasn't reading correctly, but the w2k disk seems ok, seeing as my win 95 cd's not being accepted as a valid qualifying disk. It's oem and as far as I can tell, capable of doing a full install, however, I couldn't even swap out the existing hard drive and install w95 on the new hard drive, it wasn't seeing it as a valid disk or some such. When you're suggesting I run SFC, do you mean boot from the w2k disk? If I do, there doesn't seem to be a lot of options apart from the installer, can I get to a dos prompt on the w2k disk?

In a way this is funny.. guess who wrote that post but then I couldn't find it..I figured they didn't put it on as I tried to put in the urls but they didn't work..I did try ignore before but it wouldn't let me..after several tries just now it did. I am still having problem with it saying I'm not connected to the INTERNET..I'll try to work through that somehow. A couple of years ago my son worked with them some on the skins. He may have been as much a problem as help.. who know. They were good to him & kind. They did use several of his ideas. They have gone beyond his knowledge now. Before this version his name was also in the credits for the skins. Maybe tomorrow my son can help me now..(also maybe not) I believe he was the one who figured out IE8 was part of the problem with updates..at least one of them :) He lives in VA so isn't here to help me physically. Thank you for your replies. Something bad is definitely going on for the first time ever--10 years for me. By deleting all temp internet files and cookies, yahoo and ancestry seem back to normal. But when I try to check my current version of Java, I get this message-- "Java has discovered application components that could indicate a security concern." I ran a full system scan with Norton two days ago. It gives me the green arrow that all is ok. Removed 36 items. But last night I got violent warnings from IE that I was under attack by viruses and Trojan horses and to click to deal with. Nothing like this has ever happened before. Was not sure if it was really from IE. I shut down IE and went to Norton which also showed an attack and that they dealt with it. Then I ran another full system scan. Mama mia--terror. It found 31 items and deleted them. Everything is running fine except that Java is still giving me the same message as above when I try to find my version. Norton shows that I was attacked by a Trojan horse associated with Java but it was deleted and no further action is necessary--their words. The Trojan horse is-- a0ee3d65141.class--not sure if that is a zero or the letter O. So what is going on? And I am packing for the airport. My NAV just renewed a few days ago and I have the latest version. Thank you.
