Lily May joined our family this past Friday. She is 8 weeks old and weighs a whopping 3 lbs. 3 ozs.

Now Ethel finally has someone to play with again. Lucy has been going through some health issues and doesn't play anymore.

The 3 of them get along great and the 2 older ones make Lily behave. The do all get tuckered out by evening though.

Some good advice here already. I only have to add 'Persevere'. Honestly, it really doesn't take long to get used to what you call 'blandness'. It took me about a week, and now I add salt to nothing at all. If salt is added, I really, really notice it! That blandness isn't bland at all - it's just not salty any more! Up until now, the only thing you've really tasted is the salt - your taste-buds are attuned to salt, and not much else. Give it time, and soon you'll be getting the REAL taste of food! Meantime, keep well away from processed and packaged foods, frozen meals, take-aways etc. Even make your own bread. I can't comment from my own experience, but I do know from people who have travelled to America find the bread 'over there' is incredibly salty compared with what we get over here - make your own instead, using an absolute minimum of salt, or none at all. Use unsalted butter. Keep away from soft-drinks (carbonated colas and such - they have a lot of salt in them). Start using more herbs. Fresh is best, but dried is better than nothing. Here's a couple of salt-substitute herb mixtures you could try. You don't need to follow the recipes exactly if you don't have all the ingredients: Herbal Salt Substitute (1) 1/4 cup dried parsley 1/4 cup dried savory 1/4 cup dried savory 1/4 cup dried thyme 2 tablespoons dried marjoram Grind all ingredients together. Herbal Salt Substitute (2) 3 tablespoons dried basil 3 tablespoons dried marjoram 3 tablespoons dried parsley 3 tablespoons dried thyme 4 1/2 teaspoons dried chives 2 1/2 teaspoons dried paprika 1 1/2 teaspoons dried rosemary 2 1/2 teaspoons onion powder Grind all ingredients together. About the Clarksville of the song: It has often been presumed that the song refers to Clarksville, Tennessee, which is near Fort Campbell, Kentucky, the home of the 101st Airborne Division, which was then serving in Vietnam. However, according to songwriter Bobby Hart, that was not the case. Instead, according to Hart, "We were just looking for a name that sounded good. There's a little town in northern Arizona I used to go through in the summer on the way to Oak Creek Canyon called Clarkdale. We were throwing out names, and when we got to Clarkdale, we thought Clarksville sounded even better. We didn't know it at the time, [but] there is an Army base near the town of Clarksville, Tennessee — which would have fit the bill fine for the storyline. We couldn't be too direct with The Monkees. We couldn't really make a protest song out of it — we kind of snuck it in." Although "Clarksville," a common U.S. place name, is in the song title, the video accompanying the song on the Monkees' TV show showed a sign pointing to "Clarkesville", which is a much more rare spelling, now used only for a town in Georgia. Linda, she's beautiful. I knew when I saw this I was going to see a doxie puppy, somehow.

I have a soft spot for the black-and-tans, but that puppy is just adorable.

I have the Lucy / Ethel model - my neighbors have her sister and her Aunt. We doxie - sit for each other. These dogs (sshh - don't let them hear me call them dogs) all sleep just like yours. They are so wonderful together.
When I opened this thread very early this morning - I said I want one!
Then I had to walk ours in the pouring rain while she couldn't find the "perfect" spot quickly!

What a Cutie Pie. It's always nice to have the older ones teach the youngest the ways of the pack. I always think it livens them up too, looking out for their fair share. It's great having a new furry CF member, and I am certain you're also having a great time checking for teeth marks on all your chair legs!

I could just rub those soft long ears for hours. And I love her name. All dogs should have a middle name, just so they know you are mad when you use it.
