I have been in contact for some time with Tricia about what has been going on and appreciate all the concern. I have been gone for 2 and a half weeks working on my addiction to prescription pain medications. The kids are doing just great and are staying with my folks and having lots of fun keeping grandpa and grandma busy. I am learning a lot about depression and how it can affect a person. I feel so much better physically, mentally and emotionally than i have in years. I am glad that I recognized the problem and got the help that I need and will be done in less than 2 weeks. Keep up the thoughts and prayers, I can use all the good CF mojo that I can get.

Stacie, thank you for checking in and keeping us up to date. I know that there were many of us here that were worried about you. I'm glad you are getting help and that you will be home soon with your babies. Take care of yourself.

Burpee may had a packaging problem this year. I just ran across a poster with pictures of a golden zuchinni grown from a Burpee package labeled acorn. Your description fits a cylindrical yellow zucchini. So you are probably in the same boat. If you like yellow zukes , great, but in either event contact Burpee for a replacement package.

Sorry the doc wasn't what you were hoping for. Sometimes it takes a couple of visits to get comfortable. Other times it takes visits to a few different docs to find one you like. I think the drug I take is the one they usually start with. Then if that doesn't seem to help, they move up the ladder to stronger stuff. I have been fortunate that it helps me and I haven't had to move on to "bigger and better" drugs! Chin up, girl! The best news,just as we all hoped! Dexascan is a piece of cake - I used to do them when I worked in the Rheumatology office. Bone-building drugs may be prescribed, but they work slowly, so 6 weeks one way or the other won't make a huge difference. There are lots of reasons you can have osteopenia or osteoporosis - drug therapies, both chemo and steroids, being too thin (being under 127 pounds is a marker for risk), family history, early menopause, low calcium and Vitamin D, and the list goes on. For now, take care of yourself, be a good girl and do what the docs tell you to do. We'll all be here, thinking of you and cheering you on until those crutches are tucked away in the closet.

Thanks everyone for your input! I like the idea of adding in a color or two into each of the rooms to give them some interest. Because I consider decorating my house kind of a hobby of mine, I want that to be reflected in the actual decor. I don't want people to walk in and say of course her rooms are put together, she only used one color. Does that make any sense? Perhaps I care too much what other people MIGHT think when they come into my home. My husband and my little girl feel at home, thats what matters! But just so you get a better idea of what I am talking about, I will post some pictures after I am feeling better. I have the flu right now and the house doesn't look quite photo-ready!!

I'm new here as well, and had no idea of your situation until this post. My daughter suffers from depression (and anxiety issues), so I can empathyze with your struggles. Good for you and good luck in your recovery. While everyone feels differently about sharing personal issues, I applaud you for talking publicly - it truly does help others who may be in a similar situation as you. You're not alone, by any means. All the best to you.

Stacie, my daughter is just a year and 5 months since she broke free of her addiction. I know how hard this is for you. You will be so glad to be free of those meds and able to be with your children. I hope you have many years of joy and freedom from your addiction and the depression. You have so much to look forward to.

I haven't been on here in a while but I'm sorry to hear you're going through this stuff. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were my husband's sister - she just had her fourth child a year ago, had gall bladder surgery and is now going through an addiction battle as well. When I talked to her on the phone the other day, her speech was so slurred I could barely understand her. The difference is, you are seeking help - and for that I am so glad to hear. Part of SIL"s problem is she is married to a guy who is not very supportive and doesn't understand it at all, which doesn't help. I'm glad to see you have a good support system in place and things are coming together for you.
