Driving t-posts and keeping them plumb
Comments (4)How tall are your posts before driving them in? Being 5'7", and driving my 6 1/2ft posts, I have to stand up on something. If I am not up with the post top, it always goes in crooked because I am pulling it. Not sure how many posts you have, but sometimes using a sledge hammer or a newer driver can help. My friend just got a spring-loaded post driver, and says it is MUCH easier to use than just a weighted driver. Haven't tried her driver yet, so have no opinion yet. In extremely hard ground, I have found using the sledge hammer to be easier. My hands just can't take the slamming down of the driver handles. Again, I need to be higher up, to make this work. So I stand on the truck tailgate or my plastic, 2-step stool to gain the needed height to drive in the posts....See MoreFireFox - How to keep a backup of the Scrapbook add-on?
Comments (4)Bookmarks and Scrapbook are different. I can back up Bookmarks easily following the path I gave in my first post. There is a file for Bookmarks inside the next stop after Profiles, which is v20fqq3t.default. I forgot to mention that last one. There is also a folder for Scrapbook inside v20fqq3t.default, but that folder contains a number of files, including "Backup" and several RDF files that appear to be individual backups but are just a meaningless list of figures when I click them, as well as a folder for "Data." "Backup" itself is also full of lines like the following: RDF:Description RDF:about="urn:scrapbook:item20060912103442" NS8:id="20060912103442" NS8:type="" NS8:title="Scappy String Quilt Instructions" NS8:chars="UTF-8" NS8:comment="" NS8:icon="" NS8:source="http://home.pmt.org/~awalter/string.html"/ So I don't see how saving Backup would give me something to use in the event of a crash. Groan. Come to think of it, Roxio appears to insist on individual files rather than folders when I want to burn a disk, so maybe I'll have to export everything to the desktop and then laboriously transfer it to Roxio as a "project" and burn that. What gets me is that previously--maybe a long time ago--there was just one folder that I could transfer to a zip disk and from it open up FF again with all the scrapbook entries. Somewhere along the line that changed. I do find Scrapbook very useful because any Web page saved there is always there, along with its clickable links, even if the original page has been taken down....See MoreHow important is NO 'turntable on/off' feature for microwave?!
Comments (12)For us, that feature was a big deciding factor in our microwave purchase. We went from a "ginormous" dinosaur of a microwave (Panasonic circa 1988) to a teeny one. We don't cook much in it (mostly use it for reheating leftovers, "baking" a potato or two, melting butter or chocolate, that sort of thing), but we still wanted the ability to use a 9 X 13 pyrex baking dish when we needed to. I think we'd be kicking ourselves each time couldn't use it when we needed or wanted to. Since we couldn't have the interior space we had before, we had to at least have a TT off feature on our new microwave. Hope this helps......See MoreHow important is it to keep the same flavor profiles in a meal?
Comments (15)You had quite a challenge and met it well. I like the buffet style and who cares if people only go monochrome. Maybe they like it that way. People tease Scandinavians about all the white food. No big deal to me. I'm not sure I'd have the patience to deal with all the dietary issues. I might send invitations on a paper bag and say bring your own! :) I've got a cousin who has her own cooking challenges. Let's see, she cooks for: -A granddaughter "vegetarian", who won't eat vegetables -Husband who's is a hypochondriac and lately is a wannabe Celiac. (And is nearly televangelistic in preaching to anyone who will listen that everyone is Celiac and doesn't know it.) This "Celiac" btw frequents pizza buffets and White Castle. Yep, that's gluten intolerant! -A friend who's on the Atkin's diet. -Parents who were "meat & potatoes only" people. Don't add any of that salt & pepper... don't like things spicy! -Daughter who is a serious diabetic. Anyone care to plan & cook that one? :)...See Moremanhattan42
