This board is great. I have learned so much from all of you, and I know that if I make a mistake, I can usually come here and find a "quick fix" to it. The recipe you all share are great and my collection grows every day. I appreciate your wisdom and advice and wanted to thank everyone for being so friendly...

Harriet05, This is an amazing forum, isn't it? I whole-heartedly agree with your comments. This group has given me the courage to try more than applesauce and canned peaches, the recipes to do so, the advice when I screw up, and the support to work through the problems. Canning has become my new all-consuming hobby and I have this group to thank for it. Or condemn :)

That's what made the video so neat...because not many people have had the pleasure of being on the property. That video let everyone visualize plumeria heaven on Hawaii and it's keeper... Of course, you realize that we are all addicts and we've just sucked you in to our own little past time, don't you. LOL

No 12 step program available for canning, you will just have to stay here and can along with the rest of us. Bwahahahahaha....

You don't REALLY want to be a workaholic farm girl canning addict who can drive a backhoe and string barbed wire. LOL

Harriet, I'm glad we didn't scare you off with the discussion about tomatoes! People here are friendly and do want others to enjoy canning while doing it safely. Looking forward to reading your posts in the future.

Melly, driving a backhoe IS fun! Actually, once you get past the fact that it's hard work, much of farming is fun. I spend all day in the office, wishing I could figure out how to make a living on the farm. I'd way rather clean calf pens and string barbed wire than do research and draft briefs. Sigh.

Still, my job pays for my farming, so I guess I'll keep at it. LOL
