Thickening tomato sauce......

Is there any other way to thicken tomato sauce other than boiling it down for hours? Is there some kind of thickener out there? I know corn starch and flour are out. Yesterday I had so much to do but was confined in the house because of the sauce. After hours of gently boiling, it was still as thin as juice. I had already added tomato paste. The kitchen and dining room became uncomfortably warm and humid. I can see my electric bill going up, up, up making sauce and it needs stirring so I can't go off and leave it. After the beans were canned I gave up on thickening it and went ahead and canned the watery sauce so I could go to bed.
