Help, why are my glass tiles so dull?!?
Comments (39)You can try to wax them. Every shell mosaic manufaturer after they polished the mosaic chips and stick in a sheet, they have one step is waxing. After waxing, the chips will become very shiny. After construction, there will be having some dirty thing on the surface. That's the reason that is dull. Hoping this is useful for you. And the right way for installing that kind of shell mosaic is following: Construction way of our mother of pearl mosaic and tiles. We can lay glue or adhesive (We suggest to use tiny granule glue or white grout) on the wall and then put the mosaic on the wall by hand until the gap is filled with glue or grout (the hand pressure should be well-proportioned). After 30 minutes (for tiny granule glue 20 minutes is okay), you can clean the surface of the mosaic by dry soft cloth. 3.Shell Panel Application & Installation Commonly use to the backing such as MDF, Marble, Ceramic, Calcium Silicate Board, Plasterboard, Acryl and Metal. Using AB adhesive or all-purpose adhesive, apply even coat of adhesive to the panel and wall, and waiting for 5 to 8 minutes, then press it carefully to the wall. Immediately wipe off excess adhesive with a soft wet cloth, and dry with a clean soft cloth afterwards. 4. Protection and Cleaning 1. Please wipe the surface with charpie to reduce the nick; 2. Please clean the surface with neutral detergent; 3. Please wax shell mosaic surface regular time; Please Attention 1.Do not irradiate the surface with 100W above light. 2. The detergent should be faintly acid, because the content of shell mosaic are CaCO3; 3.Would better use tham soft cloth clean the surface, and wax them regular time for keeping the shiny. Comments (4)A "double-pane" window is an IGU or insulated glass unit. It is constructed of two panes of glass with a metal spacer separating them. there is an air-tight butyl seal around the perimeter on both sides of the spacer sealing the glass to it. The cavity space was originally filled with dry air (or gas) and dessicant to prevent condensation from forming on the interior faces of either pane. As someone else stated, why can't it be repaired? The window was assembled originally it should be possible to replace the entire IGU without replacing the entire window unit frame and all. Oyu will likely not be able to remove the glass on one side and leave the other and if by chance you do, I susoect the level of effort would be greater than replacing the IGU. Hope this helps....See MoreWhy does my KBG lawn look greener before I mow it?
Comments (45)@gle2011: I think shallow is relative. Some grasses have roots 2 and 3 ft deep. If you mow your KBG at 4" the roots will be about 4". If you mow it at 2" your roots will be about 2". I think the idea is to maximize the root depth by mowing high and encouraging the roots to reach down where the water is, not curl up and form a thatch mat while looking for shallow water. I think your site is vague about how dry the surface might become before needing more water. A lot of us have looked around and see our neighbors watering every day, doing everything wrong, yet having none of that brown straw mixed in with the green blades. If the search feature of this forum weren't so pathetic, I might be able to find my post on this subject. If I recall correctly, morpheus said that you might have to give up a little green in the summer heat but you gain resistance to many other problems. Personally, I have yet to see one of these neighbors' lawns crash and burn due to poor watering. On the other hand, I lost a few patches to fungus while doing everything "right"! I'm going to water an inch once a week whether it needs it or not next season to observe any difference....See MoreSierra Pacific windows…help, please! Why does the glass look "green"?
Comments (131)My problem is that I loved our custom made plantation shutters in our front window until the green windows happened. I leave the shutters open now, have taupe curtains hanging in the windows between them, and I’m on the fence about taking down the shutters. I’m still mad. And to add to my anger, we had a “new” window hire at Lowe’s (we discovered was fired months later) who insisted we could only get new Pella 350 in equal halves instead of the larger size on the upper window, replacing exacwhat we had. This changed the look of our beautiful custom shutters, which no longer were set at the proper position of the openings for the new windows. UGH!!!!!!!! Sorry for venting…....See Moregoldenpond
