Funny, I was just reading a post at another forum about this same subject. I feel your pain, normally that's what happens in my area too but this past month(June) we have been very fortunate. We've had a little over 7" of rain here(highlands county).

On the post a few funny suggestions were mentioned to "enhance" your Rain chances

1. Rain Dance
2. Washing and waxing your car
3. Leaving your car windows open
4. My suggestion, have NASA (Cape Canaveral) schedule a launch, that always seems to bring RAIN,lol...

Keeping fingers crossed you get some much needed rain today. There's suppose to be a low pressure trough forecasted to sag into North Florida today...Hope that brings you some rain.Good luck!

Wow, sorry to hear you haven't gotten any. We've had a ton here in the Tampa area over the last week. Maybe over the next few days???

That is FL for you though. We often have to endure a spring and early summer that is frequently on the dry side with temps approaching 100. And then, eventually the rain starts. One day you need plants that are drought tolerant and the next day you're worried about drowning them :/

I was in the rain vortex about two years ago. It is very frustrating. Even 1/2 mile away people would get rain but we would never get any. Luckily it seems to have gone away for us. You should watch the french movie "Jean de florette Manon of the Spring."

Got out of bed at 4:00 am yesterday morning to go grouper fishing and from here to 100 miles in to the gulf was solid rain tried to go this morning too and was the same thing at 4:00 am...went back to bed both days. We probably got 3 inches just yesterday.......not complaining (much) mind you as we have had happen here what you are experiencing and it is very frustrating.

Will send rain thoughts your way for sure. We have gotten a whopping two inches of rain total this week - first rain we have had in 8 weeks.

Just yesterday, our three year once-per-week watering restriction was lifted and we can now water twice per week - YAY!!! It's funny, because the east part of our county has had excessive rain, while those of us along the gulf/river confluence are still in excess drought. Maybe my new little trees planted last fall will be happier.

Did you get rain last night? Finally some sprinkles here on Merritt Island. Not nearly enough to make my plants perk up though. I'm getting tired of dragging the hose or homer buckets all over the yard to water everything. I feel like we live in the dust(sand) bowl.

For the last 4 weeks, on my way home from work in Orlando it rains on me until I get to the 528/520 exit and mysteriously it stops. So frustrating! I'm leaving my car windows down and getting in the pool so I can bring on the rain JuJu. Hopefully today it will work. The clouds look promising.

For the first time in ages our concrete was wet last night, however today, with a forecast of 80% chance of rain by early afternoon, bone dry. Frustrating to say the least. Based on the swimming pool line we only got about a 1/2 inch last night, not nearly enough. I believe I will attempt to paint my house this weekend, that ought to work.

I would consider this year to be a wet one. I gauge that by the water level in our lake it is about 1 foot below my dock. It is usually not to this level till Sept. Here's hoping this weekend will be good for ya.

Man I know the horrors of which you speak. For about 5-6 weeks we sat here watching the radar and HEAVY rains within a mile or two very consistenly, with ZERO rain at our house. Finally in the past few days we have started getting rain.
I was about to resort to leaving my brand new expensive camera out. Or maybe my phone. Washing the car did not work. (The car did go thru rain, just not close to the house.) Anyway, sending rain wishes your way...

We have finally been getting some rain for the last 3 days here in Tampa. Before that we were experiencing the vortex thing. We just laid some sod so the rain is very much appreciated.

Hip Hip Hooray ! It is raining tonight. Not a hard rain, but a good consistent drizzle, just the kind to soak into the ground gently, has been falling for a good 3 hours now. I'm guessing we're at at least 1/3 of an inch (maybe that's optimistic). Whatever the total is, I am so happy. I think my yard is too, I can practically hear the plants exhaling. Awesome !

Rockledge was in the vortex too but the rain finally started yesterday and the clouds didn't skip over our area this time. Everything in the yard looks GREAT this morning.

Wow...I have a rain gauge in my backyard, and so far as of yesterday I've had almost 7" of rain!! This is the most I've ever seen since I moved to highlands county four years ago. I hope it continues to be a semi wet month.
