French Onion Dip

Well, I've been reading this forum for some time but have never had much to contribute. I'll be asking a lot of questions later in the year since I doubled the size of my garden this year and plan to freeze and can some.

Anyway, my kids love the store bought french onion dip for veggies and potato chips. We're getting broccoli now and was sick and tired of paying a lot for the store bought dip. I came up with this and I have to say that it's very much like the store bought, maybe better, and definitely a lot cheaper.

Ingredients:

~ pint of sour cream

~ 2 TBS dehydrated onions

~ 1 tsp beef base

~ 1/4 tsp salt

All of the ingredients are from Costco.

Take about 1 TBS of the sour cream, the beef base, and the salt and mash them together until the beef base is just coloring the sour cream. It should be a fairly dark brown color now. Mix in the rest of the sour cream and the dehydrated onions. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Mix up good. Eat with all sorts of fresh veggies!
