I hate bambi and all his ilk

I've managed to keep the deer damage to a minimum this summer by routinely spraying with my favorite stinky deer spray all those plants the deer favor, such as Sedum, Echincea, Lilium, Rudbeckia, Oxalis, Daylilies, Roses, Camelias, Hydrangeas, Gaura, Callihroe, etc... But,this past week, the deer started to eat plants they've never ever touched before. They cleaned out an entire pot of caladiums last night. They located each and every portulaca planted around my patio (one of the few plants who love this drought), so now I only have portulaca nubs. They also sucked up all the sweet potato vines.

I am assuming that the drought is making the forest plants taste rather dry and crispy, so they'd rather just dine at my house. Sometimes I just want to give up and hang a big sign above my garden that says "welcome to the buffet, you b*st*rds."
