can mint work with xeric plants?

I have an area that is narrow, just barely a foot wide, between a soundwall and my driveway. It's 10' long. I plan to put barriers in on both sides, though on one side there is a mexican sage and I don't think even mint can compete with that plant!

It gets full late morning to afternoon sun.

I water this strip with a soaker about once every two weeks, if that. All the plants there would be fine with a little more water -- Salvia, a Rudbeckia, two Verbena bonariensis, some fleabane (which is rather fried right now) and some milkweed.

I can water this area more like once a week. Would the mint survive if I did that? I read it tastes better with some sun but that it also likes moisture.
