Northerns, how's your weather?

We got at least another 3" of snow last night. So far we've had consistent snow cover since very beginning of Dec., which is not typical of recent winters. The roses should appreciate the snow cover, esp. the more tender ones that I never got around to protecting.

It has also been colder than usual, with temps regularly going down to the mid-teens and only 20s during the day. The past few years, 40-50F was more common during Dec.

Looks like, so far, we're having a more typical zone 5 winter. If only the snow cover stays. I worry that in Jan. we may have a thaw, then a cold snap.
