Can Walnut trees (via juglone) kill Bald Cypress?

We have been trying to establish a grove of bald cypress and dawn redwood trees in a valley at the local arboretum. We have had great success using a combination of the two species and using 2-1/2" cal. trees and 2' tall whips.

All areas are doing well except near a massing of walnut trees. We kept plugging in more trees every spring, but this area refuses to take. Then it occurred to me that maybe the problem was the walnut trees nearby and the juglone poisons they throw around.

I have searched high and low for an on-line mention that walnut trees effect Bald Cypress or Dawn Redwood, but have found nothing. Does anyone here know of a resource that can verify this?
