OK, fess up. Which one of you paid...
Comments (21)The point is moot, since her identity has been revealed. I doubt she cares as it is nothing bad...quite the contrary. My opinion only, I just didn't think it was up to me to name the person. And as to the names not being secret....I don't think there's a big list of LA names and true identities... or at least I don't know about it! You know who someone is if you have had business with them. It may not be secret, but it is not public knowledge, per se. You can look up feedback on someone and if they have a "my page", but I don't know/see where you can look up real names... Just like on here, some people don't mind having their real names revealed and some do. It should be up to each to decide. When you sign up, whether here or on the LA, you choose what you will be called. If people choose to use their real names, fine....if they don't, I'm of the mind that they choose their user names for a reason. My thought (and mine only) was that the answer to the question was actually...not one of 'us' as in regular posters here. Btw, I agree with lefox and others...value is what someone is willing to pay. It's kind of exciting to think that daylilies can have such value. And, for some, it's a business expense, I expect... Rita, someone may have already answered by the time I post this, but a seedling's rights belong to whoever it bloomed for first. So, assuming the buyer has all of the seedling (important...read the listings, some people only sell a few fans and will tell you that it is not all of that particular seedling), he/she will need the permission of (in this instance) the Gaskins to register it. It would usually be registered as a Gaskins-whoever daylily....See MoreOk fess up....
Comments (37)I confess. I'm one of "those people." You know, the people "real gardeners" shun, refuse to talk to, avoid at get-togethers. I have a problem. I'm Bill and I grow wedelia (room says "Hello Bill"). It started innocently enough. Just a little ground cover under the ligustrum. It was so easy to grow. And those pretty yellow flowers, just the right touch of color. But it spread. Slowly at first, then faster. Soon I was mowing it, spraying it with Round-Up, pulling it out. To no avail. So I gave up. It grows now and I cut it back to keep it "under control" (under control indeed, baloney, my wife says). So if you are listening, take it from me. Don't succumb to the pretty yellow flowers, the lure of cheap and flourishing ground cover. Today I am a broken man. My life, my backyard, taken from me. I cannot win against it. Wedelia, you win, I give up....See MoreTime to 'fess up ----
Comments (8)The only one who actually believes my driver's license weight is my husband. I have no idea why he hasn't noticed me balloon out over the years while my driver's license weight remaines the same..... but I'm not complainin'. I always worry when he fills out forms that require weights... I'm always waiting for the insurance salesman to bust out laughing. Now for the real question... how much heavier are you? My lie is up to 21 lbs (and after I polish off this box of See's candy it'll be even higher.)...See MoreBills...higher than I thought. Fess up, what do you pay?
Comments (43)Did I mention we got an energy report? We saw that our bills were comparable to the past tennants 12 month history. Our utility bill states we are using about the average amount of energy compared to other homes this size in our zip code. and the energy report came from utility company? of course your bills will be comperable. consider the source of info. utility info is biased to favor utility co. same with the audits they provide...10-15% savings max as compared to 30%+ with independent evaluation. my clients save 50% on average once my recommendations are completed and work is verified & tested. without blower door & duct testing...it is just a guess as to where the house/ducts/returns leak. air sealing is the best savings. cheap to do, immediate results..long term benefit depending upon the life of the sealant (use caulk..expands contracts unlike foams) duct sealing next best savings. average homes have 30% duct loss. a bucket of mastic & a morning spent sealing ducts also has long term benefit with immeidate results. beating the heat before it enters the house trumps changing windows & doors. awnings, plantings, and solar screens. once the heat is inside..then you pay to cool it. the down side to 'average billing' is that at the end of the averaged cycle, you pay the amount you went over the average. for some people this can be a real problem. never insulate before air sealing. insulation filters air it doesn't stop it. only foam insulation stops air leakage and insulates. not great stuff... best of luck....See Morezeffyrose
