mislabeled rose - High country roses

Hello everyone, I received an order from High country roses last season and included was Sunsprite rose. It grew but did not bloom last year. This spring it bloomed but it was red with little to no fragrance. I send them an email but did not receive a response yet. Kindly help identify this rose.

Comments (3)I bought both these from High Country years ago. Hattie was given to a friend in a slightly warmer zone - 5, not 4, where she did much better. I was a bit shocked by how hot pink she was in person - not what I had in mind at all, LOL. Champagne Arches (aka Nancy Parker) is a monster rose here in zone 4! Completely cane hardy, I have it growing over an arch and the canes reach about 10'. It does require some taming, however, as it puts out a LOT of new canes - and it will sucker several feet away. It's a thorny devil, but when it blooms, it just covers itself with those peachy double blossoms. Comments (2)Lilyfinch, I'm tempted to. If I do, there is no rose bed spot available for it, so it will have to be container grown for a while, which may be a good idea. I will then be able to study it further to determine its strengths and weaknesses for a couple years. As a liner size it will take a couple years for it to get large enough to get a reasonable evaluation. What drew my interest to Parade Day are its fragrance, and the possibility it is only lightly, subtly striped, and with mostly light pink stripes as the photo shows, hopefully not also having bold, white striped blooms as well. I do not like most striped roses in the garden, especially those with dramatic striping. They, in full sun, look diseased to me (mildewed, bleached, or hit with weed killer). In a vase, under different light, they look great. I grow roses mostly for their garden beauty, not for arrangements. Comments (31)Your comment must have been fate, mmmm12, as it led me to reread the entire post and find Ingrid's comment about Quicksilver buried within it. I've been going on about this rose, but haven't bought it as I like to only get from a couple of vendors to save on shipping. I had hoped to get it from Lowe's, but they are not getting in the "good" roses at the moment as their shelves are flooded due to Covid. As luck would have it, I had already ordered a goodly number of roses from Matt so emailed to see if it was too late to add it. Please keep your fingers crossed. I may still get another grafted one from Lowe's later in the season, but would feel much better to at least have one going in this year for certain. 12 days agoThank you for your responses. I had a hunch it was Dr.Huey. However, High country grows own root roses, that is why I was surprised when it pushed red blooms. I fell in love with sunspite at the Woodland park rose garden, Seattle. Fragrant and so cheerful.

9 days agoSkyrocket seems to form buds in bunches ( hybrid musk), this plant has singular buds. Maybe it needs to mature.
