You can tie them to anywhere they will bend that far. Wichurana climbers have a tendency to produce very stiff, fat canes that will break if pushed too far. They also tend to throw a lot of laterals out at right angles, which poke out from where they are supposed to be. They are very three-dimensional roses, which don't necessarily work on 2-dimensional supports. I'm way past the point of just sleeping through those freezes, and try to get others to follow my good example. The only time we've had damage was the year a hot spell in April was followed by lows in the low 20s-high teens. My HTs didn't really survive that, and there were other plants in the neighborhood that looked rough. The apple crop was totally gone, which around here was a big deal. All the perennials were unscathed, which was what convinced me people tend to overreact.

Joey, If there are more new roses for 2021 coming, and in the numbers are proportionate to the roses beginning with the letter "S", a much used letter, High Country Roses will be off the charts with new offerings. I suspect the "S" phenomenon is a one in a million chance coincidence. Moses

@Lala Idaho Zone 7a I loved it last year, but I think it put so much effort into its lavish blooming and didn't develop enough root system to make it. Oh well. @L Clark (zone 4 WY) Lambert Closse is rated to zone 2b on HMF so it should be fine for you. At our last house it was planted right beside a leaky pipe and lived in constant standing water all summer long and it still managed to survive and bloom! @Mischievous Magpie (CO 5b) I'm really sorry but I didn't get a chance to take pictures earlier and when I came home from town this afternoon the deer had stripped every bloom off Champagne Arches. Aaron Rosarian- Truth is I rarely follow a recipe. I see photos on Pinterest and come up with my own version, usually cutting sugar out or way down. The store is sold out of my favorite Blue Bunny Vanilla Bean ice cream, so I'm making Key Lime Cheese Cake Sandwiches instead . A few years ago I had to rush to a luncheon with just a few minutes to prepare something sensational. I softened some Philly cream cheese , spread it on quarter length Honey Maid graham crackers sandwiched together, fanned them out on a silver platter, and they went over famously ! Someone asked for the recipe and was shocked to find out it was just two ingredients, cream cheese between grahams. In addition it's possible I might have used a drop of real Vanilla. Presentation has a lot to do with it. I probably lined the silver tray with baking parchment edge cut with wavy blade craft scissors , and it seems I put flowers at each end of the tray. I've used that silver tray for everything, it was one of the best investments. I'm going to add one more ingredient this time- key lime juice stirred into the cream cheese. Tonight after dinner is the taste test. No matter how Amara stares to guilt me, she doesn't get sweets, just a small sample of plain cream cheese. She has her own doggy treats and carrots loaded in her KONG toy. UPDATE for the Key Lime Cheesecake Sandwiches; This my Friends, is one sweet kick of flavor ! It's my new favorite party dessert when there isn't time to make something elaborate.
