Hi, Hamp. Its so good to see your post. One of these days I'll post a picture of the Pink Gruss an Auchen you sent me. She's doing fine and producing the most beautiful blooms. I love the Homestead Blue Verbena so much I bought five more when I found them locally. Thanks for introducing me to this wonderful companion plant.

Souvenir de la Malmaison loves this time of year, she really begins to strut her stuff about this time of year. Get the vases ready inside your home ... they will be full.

My roses are also reacting favorably to the recent rain and cooler nights.
'Heritage' is unbelievably beautiful now in my garden.
And my Original Gruss an Aachen (not the pink sport) is now SEVEN feet wide (4 ft tall). It is my first and oldest Gruss rose. I was looking at it when I got home today and it is a thing of beauty, covered in blooms of blended coloring. Nice fragrance too.

Your roses are gorgeous but I'm really, really jealous of the foliage! I have two or three that still have a little foliage ;-). I have your heat, come get it and bring a little rain with you when you come please. I love that photo of SdlM Rouge, hard for me to get a decent photo of her.

Thank you Gean. I think Carol has given away more roses than she has in her garden. I've never seen such a giving person. I just know you'll love the "Rouge" version. The growth habit is similar to SdlM but and the blooms are just breathtaking to me. Saige is doing great and still the prettiest little girl I've ever seen ;-). I'm still a little prejudiced.

Well those beautiful Siberian Irises you shared with me I've divided and are fast spreading through out the south. I love 'em.

Carol, this foliage isn't typical of the whole garden. You don't think I'd post a picture of the nekkid roses do you (LOL)?! This strange weather has my roses acting strangly. Some of the ones that I thought would be bs nightmares are spotless and some that I thought would tolerate the wet weather are leafless.

Linda, thanks so much for the offer but I think I'd better pass for now. I have an iris "pot ghetto" of about two dozen bearded irises that I need to get in the ground already. I'm still scratching my head wondering where to put them.

Luanne, thanks. The smaller bourbons do real well here in the heat of summer, MC no exception. Me thinks Carol(ina) definitely has two right hands!

Linda I do not have Jennifer Rebecca but I do have one that looks exactly like her. It was supposed to be Prissy Miss but doesn't look like the photos I've seen. Strangely the rebloomers hardly ever rebloom here in the south or not for me.

Hey Frances, thank you. If you could see my whole garden and the things that I've kilt you'd rethink that comment about being a master of the garden. It is fun though.

Hi Krista, I hope your SdlM does well. From the time the temperatures get hot until winter it is about the best rose in my garden.

Blackcatgirl, Thanks. I think all the sports of SdlM will do very well for you in Austin. BTW love the name!

Sammy I do spray for BS but it probably isn't necessary after it gets hot here. OTOH with the extreme wet August and cooler temps it probably helped this year. I have a terrible time with powder mildew on these smaller bourbons in early spring but after it gets hot it just disappears.
